WOW someone on hear said that in their opinion, the ref who threw the flag was having trouble getting the numbers right and since a td hanged on his call and the home town fans were screaming the ref was on the hot seat and decided to just pick it up instead of taking the self embarrassing time to figure it out and get it right . . . . .
whoever you are i think you hit it right on the button, i wouldnt think a ref would succumb so easily to alil pressure . . . . . what a F*$K$# joke.
i would rather have a ref believe in his call even thoo he saw it wrong then have a ref see it right, throw the flag then pick it u cuz he doesnt want to look like an idiot who got the numbers mixed up . . .
Heyer penalty - i havent heard the nfl's response but i did see it was categorized as "unnecessary contact otherwise not in the play" . . .even thoo dockett is a pass rusher and JC was just releasing the ball . . . . oui vay
go skins!!
ps - weve had 3 tds either allowed or taken away from us this year due to bad calls, is my count correct? heyer, jackson return and ARE (which is bit of a stretch imo) . . does rabachs phantom holding call count?

Get rid of coaches challenges, put someone up in the booth with the ability to challenge ANY play. This "whistle was blown" and "Down by contact" bullshit pisses me off.
I agree. Screw the TV time restraints. It's not like Baseball where there are 5 million games each season and you can afford to drop a few. There are 16 games in the NFL-(not including post season) all of them extremely vital to the overall outcome. I can think of 3 games already this season that bad officiating has resulted in unfair losses to a team. Unacceptable.

idk what they could do about the "whistle is blown" thing, you cant tell players to play after the whistle that would open up the pandora's box imo. the only accomadation i think they could make is to tell officials to err on the side of caution and not blow the whistle and let the play play out like they're supposed to do with questionable fumbles but im not if that is a viable option.
seems refs are having a tough time finding consistency with the facemask calls. since they got rid of 5 yarders everything is 15 now to allow players to initially grab the face mask then let go without a penalty. i think this was a good move because it was ridiculus to not expect inadvertant facemasks in this game of tackle the ball carrier.
the more they try to un-ref the refs the more problems were seeing. i guess like hockey a few years ago where they tried to open the game up by clamping down on holding/interference this is going to take a few seasons to find some balance and consistency.
go skins!!
I still am amazed that they blew that call, it was so obvious and one official was standing right there watching when it happened.

have we gotten a TD from a bad call?
we did'nt get a td,but we got a huge no call in dallas when todd yoder almost pulled off pacman's head on a face mask call the refs missed.
no that i cried or lost sleep over it considering all the times the refs have screwed the skins when they play dallas.

I mean it doesn't take away from the fact that we won, so it doesn't matter to me. Had it cost us the game, the apology wouldn't have mattered either, because we wouldn't get that 7 pts off the scoreboard. I realize that there's human error in anything we do, but it just seems like the refs are really screwing up this season

game changing calls (like ones leading to TDs) should be reviewable if they are questionable. so for instance, ed hochulli's erroneous call at the chargers/broncos game should have been reviewable regardless, due to the fact that it happened towards the end and it was a game changing call.

Not surprising to hear this. I felt like throwing my redskins gnome through the tv when that happened.
