JoeRedskin 10-07-2008, 04:29 PM At this point, we are a top five team and I don't care where power polls rank us in that five. Given our schedule, a case could be made that we are the best team in football. It's nice to see the team getting some respect and getting into the top five is cool. At this point, however, I don't care about polls, I care about wins and, IMHO, I bet that's the attitude of fans who are used to winning teams (i.e. Indi, NE, Pitt, etc.).
Actually, I find myself checking the rankings of our future opponents to get a more realistic feel as to possible wins and losses are. Under the polls, and outside the NFC East, only Pittsburgh is rated in the top half of the league. That bodes well I think.
JGisLordOfTheRings 10-07-2008, 04:32 PM Maybe Portis knew what he was talking about in preseason when he said the Skins will be one of the top 5 teams.
Peter Kings has them ranked 4th because he believes Romo is a slightly better Qb than Romo and that in a nuetral setting Kansas, Dallas would beat the skins.

The Usatoday has the skins at #4.
Power rankings: Redskins up, loom just behind Giants, 'Boys - USATODAY.com (http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/2008-power-rankings.htm)

King sounds like an idiot there. If they couldn't beat us in Irving, why would he think they could beat us in Wichita?
Monksdown 10-07-2008, 04:55 PM We need to blow out 2 of the next 3 opponents to make a move up. And anyone that doesnt have us better than Dallas after dominating them at home, needs to get over the past, and live in the now.
And we're the now.
SouperMeister 10-07-2008, 04:57 PM King sounds like an idiot there. If they couldn't beat us in Irving, why would he think they could beat us in Wichita?Yeah, I kind of missed his logic on that one. I can see playing the neutral site card if the teams haven't met, but we already took them in their house.
dmvskinzfan08 10-07-2008, 05:17 PM Glad we don't play the Panthers in regular season.
It would be beautiful if we met them in the playoffs and punished them. It would be some sweet karma!!

artmonkforhallofamein07 10-07-2008, 05:39 PM Wow, not too many people can claim that the media hates us now. We won, and we have respect.
I am really eager to see how the Skins respond, now that they are considered one of the NFL's best. Will we let it get to our heads or will we continue trucking?
I certainly hope not. As long as the team remembers that we have not won anything yet. It seems through media interviews that they are very hungry to keep winning and realize that they need to win the NFC east first. Then they can concern themselves with what will be next. Boy would it be cool to have home field through at the playoffs. a man can dream ...
TheSmurfs22 10-07-2008, 05:45 PM I think if we played the Kitty Kats (Panthers) we could beat them. We have more offensive weapons and are more balanced right now.
Ijaeger 10-07-2008, 08:44 PM Boy am i glad we don't have to play Dallas in Witchita this year, we sure lucked out there. Fortunately for us we only had to play them in DALLAS, although we face a much tougher task when we play them in WASHINGTON.come on peter, seriously...the Witchita Cowboys?
