SouperMeister 10-06-2008, 11:23 AM JC's poise is what really impresses me. His numbers weren't great yesterday but he made enough plays and most importantly yet again, he didn't turn it over. Not turning the ball over in road division games where the fans and opposition are amped up is a huge indication of Campbell's poise. I can't think of a single Campbell throw this year that was even remotely close to an INT. Imagine what our turnover differential would be if our DBs could hold onto the ball.
Bottom line, Jason Campbell is our QB of the present and the future, and I'm glad that Gibbs traded up to get him.
Redskin Warrior 10-06-2008, 11:25 AM ALL of that was true, and it wasn't just based on week 1, it was based on three years. So all of you should be very happy Zorny and JC met. He has made tremendous improvements and faster than any of us expected.
I agree 100% without Zorn Campbell development probably would have taking longer.
hooskins 10-12-2008, 04:31 PM I've said this several times, but JC needs to get rid of the ball a bit quicker. Now I know all the optimistic folks are going to jump all over me, but it is true.
You can't get 5+ seconds each time in the pocket to go through 4 reads.

I thought this was a well understood fact, at least among NFL folk.
Guess not.
Get rid of the ball JC.
Oh, and catch the ball when it's tossed to you Moss.
SmootSmack 10-13-2008, 09:56 AM Campbell nearly led us to, I believe, his 5th straight 4th quarter comeback. That's pretty impressive.
I've got no gripes with JC from yesterday. He played well, if anything I wish we would have opened things up a bit more and let him attack that weak secondary.

I thought it was kind of ironic how JLC today applauded Zorn for sticking with the run game, even when behind. He didn't give the same type of applause in previous years to another head coach that was here.

What was the point of putting that comment in this particular thread, other than to take a back handed jab at the theme of the thread?
And there was only one sack that was a blatant case of Campbell holding on to the ball too long. On two of the sacks, he hadn't even finished his drop. He was absolutely not the reason for the loss yesterday, and made a few clutch throws to help retake the lead, so I personally do not view his performance as a knock against his development.
By the way, there was a quarterback who held on to the ball too long, quite a few times yesterday, and cost his team points in the process... Tony Romo.:laughing2

Only reason I used this thread is because I don't want to create another JC thread. It is one of the first I found.
Also I noticed a couple times when didn't release early which cost us sacks, but he did improve upon that as the game progressed. I still feel JC thinks he will get 5+ seconds, it's not always happening.
Finally, I agree that Romo is a hell of a lot worst at this. Maybe I have standards which are too high for Campbell, who knows. To me this is a more legit complaint, rather than putting it all on Brooks.
birdz4gibbs 10-13-2008, 02:18 PM People in general are brash and impetuous. The people calling for Jasons head after the giants game are the same people that cause accidents on the road because they don't know to slow down when driving through a blizzard.
oh hell just mash the gas we will get thru it ,:smashfrea:lol:
so far so good for JC and zorn ..keep it up..
