Redskins/Eagles MVP?

I hate to tell ya...but before looking at the options I was looking for Swishy.
He was money...he still gets my vote

I was thinking the same thing. But you could make a strong case for Cooley, for Portis, for the O-Line.

I'd like to give it to the D for essentially shutting the Eagles down after the first drive even though they were down three starters...but that might have been more because of Reid's poor coaching and McNabb's poor playing.

I am handing four gameballs:

1. Portis (As Zorn said in the 4th and 1 he will himself into a 1st down)
2. Suisham (The 50-yarder was huge, so were the other two that he made)
3. Cooley (109 yds, 1 TD)
4. Defense (No Jason Taylor, Marcus Washington, and Shawn Springs? No problem!)

I made a comment on the in-game thread that Suisham is quietly, IMO, a candidate for team MVP so far. His kickoffs are way better this year, and he's been money as far as FG's go. A couple of early misses, but he's been great. 11 of them so far this year.

hey, I'm a fan and I'm not splittin hairsw here. We played great. Especially after being down big early. Great win and way to keep our heads in the game and fight through it.

Voted Portis...but I am wondering when Zorn will be an option???? All 4 wins he has yet to be an actual option on the poll (other than "other"). He is the reason we are winning. I give him the credit. He's done an outstanding job!

I would have went D but the fact that they have gone 2 consecutive weeks without a sack concerns me. When JT comes back I think the D-line's production will increase but right now thats the only thing i'm worried about.

Portis. 145 and a TD, plus that great catch when he was lined up in the slot (which moved the chains) and he even called the 4th and 1 play that ended the game.

Fourth-and-one, Eagles' 38, 2:48 left, Washington up 23-17, Philly out of timeouts. Tricky call here. If Washington gets stopped, the Eagles take over with about 2:40 left and 62 yards to travel for the winning score. If Washington makes it on a running play and stays inbounds and plays its time-strategy cards right, the 'Skins should be able to run out the clock by kneeling three times and going home with a dramatic win.
Zorn had his thinking cap on, with Jason Campbell and Portis and a couple of the coaches on the sidelines. "I called the formation first,'' he said, "and then he called the play. He thought we should run a draw. I didn't say anything, and I looked at my plan. It was going to be very hard to run. But I thought about the play, and it was a good call. And he's a veteran. If a rookie had said anything, I'd have told him to shut up. But the call made sense. We ran it. He had to really hammer it out.''
The draw's a great call there, with the expectation that a strong back would either wham into the line, or the quarterback would throw a sure thing to either the back or tight end. The momentary element of surprise may have given Portis the sliver he needed to plow for three yards. Ballgame.
Portis was a monster in this game -- 29 carries, 145 yards -- against a D that had allowed 54 yards rushing per game in the first month of the season. Imagine how he felt, authoring the last meaningful play of the game. Imagine the respect he felt from his coach. Imagine the ownership he feels in his team this morning, knowing the new coach, an offensive maven, thought enough of his brain and gut feeling that he could get the yard he needed to give him the authority to make the call on a play that would go a long way toward winning or losing this game.

I gotta give 2 one for the o line and one for Portis. Portis ran great but he cant do it without the line.

I voted for the offensive line. They dominated the game and allowed Portis to be the star. I'm not overlooking Portis effort, it was phenomenal, I just think that the entire offense clicked because of the effort up front.
