Setting aside all the one game at a time talk (absolutely right for the players but hey I am gonna be ecstatic if they win and down if they lose no matter what so ...). How AWESOME would it be to win the SB this year after starting out with ART and DG's HOF induction. Talk about dream scenario. That would be unqualified joy.

(again I know I know one game at a time!)

My wife and I talked about that very thing when we were in Canton for the HOF weekend. We thought how great would it be if this was their year and we were here for the start of it all?! One can only dream.

The trip to Canton, and all the fans there, definitely made it a time for remembering the past and thinking of what might come. I remember the opening drive was so crisp, you almost had to dream!

Fantastic idea for a thread!!! I really enjoyed reading what everybody had to say too.

Other than '91 this is the best I've felt about the Skins and the NFL in general. Sure, when Joe came back for a 2nd tenure I was excited, but the organization seemed like such a mess back then I figured it would take a long time to turn around. The whole Gibbs II era was a massive disappointment for me. '06 was a nightmare. Even when the team rallied last year after the tragedy I didn't think we could compete w/ the top 4 or 5 AFC teams so the playoffs were like a cruel prank.

Things are so different now - not just in DC but around the league. We're actually maximizing the talent on the field, which in all fairness Joe helped accumulate, and the results are evident. Also the AFC has leveled out a bit. For years the Colts and Pats have been fucking ridiculous in talent and on-field performance. Good for their fans but seriously annoying for the rest of us IMHO.

Since....the last victory over Dallas.

Don't you guys remember the miraculous fight to get into the playoffs last year? man..what short memories...not to mention the same 2 years earlier....and all the Dallas wins in between.

We've won 3 games...1 against a playoff contender...lets talk again after the Philly game

Ok...I must now say....this is a team with character/talent and game calling as good as any team up to 1991.

My skepticism is waning.
This is a legit playoff contender with potental (keep it cool, guys) chamipionship contender

A nice gutsy bunch of guys we have. JC is coming along fine and Portis is getting his grove back(combo him and the O line). He just might surpass 1300 yards if he keeps it up. The defense is blue collar tough. Nobody is a real superstar but they do get the job done. Ball control running, shorter passing, and a grind it out style is working well for us. All Hail Zorn!!!!!!!!
