I agree it's early, but there's nothing wrong with enjoying things as they are now and daydreaming a little about what could be.

Yeah. What's wrong with feeling good about your team? God knows it's been long enough.

Not only do I feel great about the potential the skins have this year but I also feel great about washington sports in general. I think both the Wizards and the Caps make a run for it this year. Washington=Title Town???

Since....the last victory over Dallas.

Don't you guys remember the miraculous fight to get into the playoffs last year? man..what short memories...not to mention the same 2 years earlier....and all the Dallas wins in between.

We've won 3 games...1 against a playoff contender...lets talk again after the Philly game

For me, when they brought Gibbs back was an OMG moment, but I wasn't sure how long it would take to work out. I haven't felt this good about the Skins since some time during Gibbs 1.

But I am remaining somewhat reserved. While we are doing incredibly well, I want to see how we respond when we turn the ball over. So far we haven't turned it over once! If the team can respond well to that (even if we don't always win) then I will be ecstatic like the 80's and early 90's.

I also worry about some positions where we're thin. But it was really impressive that they managed to control Dallas with so many players out at the end. So call it "concerned" optimism.

Best I've felt since 1991. That team was the best team in the league from day 1, started the season 11-0, and destroyed all comers in the playoffs/Super Bowl. What I like about this team is that it's off to a great start playing against some of the best offensive teams in the league, yet I feel that we haven't played our best football yet. Jason Taylor hasn't even gotten his feet wet, and just wait until our rookie receivers start making an impact. I'm not saying that this team even remotely compares to the '91 team, but this team should continue to improve as we get contributions from additional weapons.

The 2005 and 2007 teams made great runs late, but let's face it, they dug huge holes early, and were #6 seeds in the playoffs. This team could make a run for a division title and possibly a #1 or #2 seed.

Totally agree! Nice post Soup!
It is not the 91' team but win Sunday or not, our best football is ahead of us this season. This team may well turn a lot of heads!

The announcement of Joe Gibbs return.

I'm feelin pretty good about things. I mean, why shouldn't we? We always win the Superbowl after the Giants do right? :D

Totally agree with you... And yes if history holds true we have won the Superbowl following everytime the Giants have won theirs. It would be awesome and then Gibbs 2.0 was to set this team on the right path and Zorn gave us that offense we needed to be successful.

I felt really confident after we beat Minnesota last year, but I haven't felt like we could really win it all in probably over a decade.
