After Coach Gibbs came back I read an artical on nfl.com written by Marv and he went on to say that Gibbs is a proven winner and that he will be fine in DC.

He also went on to say that after seeing coaches like Parcells, Vermile, and Gibbs come back, that he too would like another go around, but the phones are not ringing.

So my question is this, given the fact that they lost 4 SB's, was Levy a good coach (to get them to the SB 4 times) ? Or was his Bills just too talented in a not so talented AFC?

4 SB's in a row is a huge accomplishment. Levy was definitely a very good coach.

I think his phone isn't ringing because of how old he is.

I'm pretty sure he's in the HOF already. He has an impressive track record aside from his stint with the Bills. He won two CFL titles in five years with Montreal.

And, interesting to note, he replaced Dick Vermeil as Redskins special teams coach back in the early 1970s. I think Vermeil might have been the first ever special teams coach in the NFL after George Allen introduced the idea right?

Yeah he is old, but how old is Vermile? And Gibbs is not what you would call young. I think that he was a good coach, I mean you never heard a player talk bad about him and he had great personal skills. You can have a great offensive or deffensive philosiphy but if you cant get players to buy in to it or if you cant communicate it to them then it can never come to be. His players never questioned him. Also why not for a coordinator position something like that?

But, the coaches do not usually participate in up-downs with the team. :D

Doesn't matter how old his body is, matters how old he is in his own mind. If he has it in him to come back and coach a football team with the type of tenacity that it takes, he will be successful.
