Shawn Springs throws down the gauntlet on T.O.

They have battled wearing five uniforms between them. They shared the spotlight in an infamous "Monday Night Football" incident. They have trained together during offseasons.

And on Sunday, Dallas (http://www.washingtontimes.com/themes/?Theme=Dallas+Cowboys) receiver Terrell Owens (http://www.washingtontimes.com/themes/?Theme=Terrell+Owens) and Washington cornerback Shawn Springs (http://www.washingtontimes.com/themes/?Theme=Shawn+Springs) will go at it for a 10th time when the Cowboys host the Redskins (http://www.washingtontimes.com/themes/?Theme=Washington+Redskins) for the final time at Texas Stadium.

"I have a track meet Sunday," Springs said. "I can't wait to see it. Me and Terrell 'Usain Bolt' Owens. I'm excited for it. He better be ready."

"I'm going to call him and tell him I'm going to be coming down there smokin'," Springs said.

I like it. Springs is complementing TO more than anything else though. There is no lack of confidence w/ SS. When healthy he's as good as any CB in the league.

Like I said in the Redskins vs. cowlovers thread, these guys are somehow friends and It always makes for a good matchup. I wouldnt be suprised to see Los on TO at times as well.

That was the first game after Sean Taylor had been hurt. Our D looked lost out there w/ Landry, a rookie, and Doughty, basically a rook in the safety positions. I think Springs was out there but I believe we just couldn't execute very well w/ that many guys back there. I think that was also Landrys first game at Free safety too. We were lost.

I think Doughty got burned a few times. After that game he played much better the remainder of the year.

I would have to agree. Three years ago he was the clear cut best corner, but I think there are some young guys now to knock him off his throne.

no Taylor was. But Springs himself was dealing with his fathers health issues at the time and I don't think he was exactly "in the game"

I'm looking forward to a good game by him.
