Ruhskins 09-23-2008, 11:49 AM or the dumbass who gave into peer-pressure and started Big Ben over J.T. O'Sullivan :(
or the dumbass that started the Giants D/ST (vs. Bengals = 6 pts) instead of the Titans D/ST (vs. Houston = 20 pts).
Ruhskins 09-23-2008, 11:51 AM Did you see his celebration? He had to of felt a little embarassed after that.
I would say typical for an NFL rookie that just scored his FIRST NFL TD.
Sheriff Gonna Getcha 09-23-2008, 06:57 PM Run Blocking. I'm so tired of seeing Portis hit before he gets to the LOS. Open some running lanes for this man and our offense, with its new and improved passing game, will be explosive.

I feel like he can't ever get a head of steam straight up the gut. When we flip it to him on a toss/sweep kind of play he can almost always get around the corner for at least 7 or 8 yards.
GMScud 09-23-2008, 07:08 PM Or how about that horrible roughing the passer he had? I like Smoot in general but sometimes he gives you one of those "WTF" moments.
Anquan Boldin saw that cushion Fred was giving him and was like, "thanks for the TD." And then he caught a TD.

I feel the same way. What I don't understand is how Betts had gaping holes to run through in the middle of the line in 2006. Every time I see Portis run up the gut, it looks like 9 defenders are stacked right behind the DTs.
GMScud 09-23-2008, 07:14 PM Not much to say this week, but here goes
SmootSmack: You decide not to start Larry Fitzgerald in your $$ fantasy league, sticking to your tradition of never starting a player who is playing the Redskins and it costs you the win, a 3-0 start and sole posession of first place. Was it really worth it?
Oh that's a bummer. You gotta compartmentalize, SS! I have Tony Romo in one league and Marion Barber in another. You better believe they'll both be in my starting lineups this weekend. When it comes to fantasy I want to win games and win money. It sucks to see other players score against the Skins, but it is what it is.
I only break this rule for ONE player. Terrell F-ing Owens. This is my 8th season playing fantasy football. Never drafted him, never will. I just can't cheer for that man. He's been on my shit list ever since he ran Mooch outta SF.
djnemo65 09-23-2008, 07:22 PM Regarding run-blocking, we obviously don't have a dominant run-blocking line. That being said, as we established the pass during the course of the game it seemed like the lanes started to get bigger. Moreover, when we needed to run for first downs at the end of the game to seal it we were able to. So 4.4 ypc for Portis, while perhaps not equal to the "CP of old," is enough to carry us this season. When CP complained in that article, his point was not that our line sucks, but rather that it's difficult for anyone in the NFL to run when the defense is selling out against the run. As JC continues to succeed, and Zorn continues to call passes in situations in which we would have run in the past, CP will continue to have less to complain about I think.

I think you are right. With that said, I wonder how ticked CP would be if the linemen did a radio show and said "just once we'd like to see how many more YPC LaDainian Tomlinson could get behind our blocking".

Yeah, I thought it was really uncool what he said. Didn't get where he was coming from and don't understand what he means when he says he was taken out of context. But winning heals all wounds right?
