Skins_4_Lyfe 09-23-2008, 12:22 AM I never make an argument on a guy based on production/numbers alone. I have seen enough of TO to know that he is a gamebreaker. HOWEVER the argument I made was that, in my opinion he is not the greatest wide reciever ever because he drops way too many passes. You called out jsarno saying he sounded like a dallas fan when your the one making this rediculous argument. He backed it up with a completely legitimate and well thought out post and all you have to say is "If TO were on a different team..."
I sure hope I'm wrong and TO drops a couple of big passes on Sunday...why stop there I hope he drops every pass thrown his way...I will bow to you and jsarno while addmiting that I was wrong
jsarno 09-23-2008, 12:49 AM Dude, YOURE coming off as stupid. Youre suggesting that Steve Young, Donovan McNabb and Tony Romo were average quaterbacks untill TO came along....WOW. Not to mention he threw half of these guys under the bus.
Sometimes it's not worth making the argument that will fall on deaf ears. Problem is, he is being shown facts, but he would rather believe his opinion. When he said I was sounding stupid, I think we all saw it was him, except of course, himself. It's no big deal. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.
I have already stated that Owens is an elite WR, but unless I say he is the best ever, this guy will try to insult. LOL. His comments should be laughed at, not responded to.

I hope we can have better, more productive conversation in the future.
GO SKINS.

Didn't mean to hurt anyones feelings with the "coming off stupid" comment...I've just been saying that to everbody ever since I saw the "Step Brothers" movie...guess its hard to detect a sense of humor over the net...but you did put up a good argument...GO SKINS
53Fan 09-23-2008, 01:43 AM I guess if you keep talking about how great you are, eventually some people are going to believe it.

LOL...I haven't seen that movie yet. Was it good?

Dude I cried. It was one of the funniest films I've seen in a while.
jdot26 09-23-2008, 10:02 AM Man the key to winning this game is stopping jason witten.. Man he's been killing defenses on 3rd down... and he always starts off blocking then releses into the open with out being covered.. If we stop t.o. with shawn springs and some safetie help.. We got to figure out a way to rattle tony romo... by sending blitzs from different angles.... man I pumped for this game I think we can beat dallas.. There not that good to me.. And when we get pressure on tony romo.. We have to get him down we can be letting him escape then were going to get beat in are man coverage... and we got to get clinton portis going this week even tho he had a decent week last week.. I just wait lol

That could work, but do the math here. You are talking about blitzing, which means sending extra LB's (meaning those LB's are not in coverage), then double-coverage on TO, that means a DB and a safety on one guy, that leaves a CB and safety for the other WR's on the field. And with the LB's blitzing and your DB's and safeties occupied that will leave either Witten or Crayton or Austin in man coverage, which is a match-up QB's look for. I am not even going to mention spreading the defense out by putting Felix Jones in motion and in a pass pattern.
What you are talking about is exactly what the Packers did on defense and they got beat. You send those LB's in on a blitz from different angles, then the middle of the field is open and Witten will have a feast.
And that is the magic of having a WR like Owens, he demands so much attention from the defense it opens up other opportunities for other players on offense by drawing the coverage away from them. This is why I have always said that T.O. does not need 7 catches and 100+ yards to be a factor in the game. Just his presence on the field is enough.

Hopefully the idea of the blitz is to disguise it so you can get to Romo before he gets the ball off. Romo is not that great at reading defenses and can be rattled. The big problem is that Dallas has a great OL who generally pick up the blitz and give Romo time. If you can disguise the blitz and catch the OL offguard, Romo can be rattled.
And as far as Owens, you have to punish him. Whether he makes the catch or not, hit him hard just like Sean Taylor always did. He doesn't like that and it definitely affects his game.
I think Witten is the key. He will be a tough matchup for us. We can stop Barber with LB help, but that lets Witten free up and he will kill us.
If our offense can keep the ball for some long drives and keep the defense fresh we have a shot, but we have to play a perfect game.
