Baltimore’s Landry hospitalized, OK after injury

Baltimore Ravens starting safety Dawan Landry was cleared by a CT scan after he was hospitalized following a knee to the helmet against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

Landry was carted off the field during the second quarter before he was taken to the hospital for X-rays.

“Everything is normal,” Ravens spokesman Kevin Byrne said.

Landry was injured late during the half while attempting to make a tackle on a 9-yard run by Cleveland’s Jamal Lewis. Landry was hit in the back of the head by Lewis’ knee as he went in low for the tackle.

Landry lay motionless on the field for several minutes as he was attended to by team personnel. Players from both teams formed a circle around Landry near the 30-yard line as he was surrounded by 10 trainers. His facemask was removed and he was secured to a backboard and immobilized before being placed on the back of a cart and driven off of the field.

Landry never lost consciousness and had movement in all his extremities, Ravens orthopedist Leigh Ann Curl told The AP. The third-year safety was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma unit for X-rays. He could be seen talking as he was carted off the field to an ovation from the M&T Bank Stadium Crowd.

there we go..

Watched it on TV, and didn't think the hit he took was that bad. Guess it caught him just right. Glad to hear he's doing good.
