Josh Howard can barley speak let alone speak for anyone else. Free speech isn't free and this might cost him, a lot.

America has made Mr. Howard rich without him having a real job. He SHOULD be very thankful he's an American.

Idiot. I hope he loses a lot of his money (and future income) from this asinine statement.

Why exactly would you be MORE pissed? AT least Dirk is german, Howard is American. Either way would not be taken well imo, but to be more pissed at someone that is not a US citizen???? I don't get it.

I understand (but do not condone) where he's coming from.

With that said, I would NEVER say something like that personally and come on dude, just put your hand over your damn heart. Or at least keep your mouth shut and at least LOOK respectful. How hard is that?

Ask Obama.

Funny how people are pissed at a spoiled athlete, but look the other direction when a presidential candidate doesn't put his hand over his heart.

note- not saying you are saying that, just making the observation.

Not putting your hand over your heart but still standing respectfully while the anthem is played is not at all the same thing as the comments Howard made. Not even close

Not even closeWhile I'm in the opposite corner of Obama, I'll give him a pass on this one. He's an Ivy Leaguer and it doesn't appear they have a US Govt 101 course in their schools.

The U.S. Flag Code clearly states that during the national anthem, non-military citizens should face the flag and put their right hand over their hearts....or stomach.

EDIT: This is a joke and an attempt to point out that it's unreasonable to jump on Obama because he doesn't always put his hand on his heart during the anthem. Just look around at any sporting event and many people don't have their hands over their hearts, it's not because they're disrespectful they just don't know.
