I understand that Hasselbeck has a slew of new WR's due to injuries, but the system remains the same, and he is doing TERRIBLE. Completing only 45.5% of his passes, 379 yards, 1 td and 3 int in 2 games. He has a rating of only 48.6 after he had the 2nd highest qb rating of his career with a 91.4 last year. I do think this shows the importance of Zorn, it seems without him he is not adjusting.
All that being said, I do not think for one second that JC's success last week was a coincidence, I firmly think Zorn worked with him all week and the success was a direct result of Zorn's coaching. Of course this could all be moot if Campbell sucks this week and Hasselbeck turns it on, but I think we're seeing why Hasselbeck was so good, and why Campbell will become what we always thought he could become.

Hasselbeck has his 4 top receivers out AND he is having major back problems. All the coaching in the world wouldn't make up for those kinds of problems.

Correlation does not equal causation?

There was a rumor that he had a bulging disk in his back, but anyone that has had one would know he would not be able to be out there and perform, meaning he'd be riding the pine. Hasselbeck himself downplayed the injury. I don't think it's a "major back issue" nor do I think it's even a serious problem.

Hasselbeck is not any worse now than last year he just doesn't have any help. JC is getting better and I think that Zorn is a great QB coach, but Hasselbeck didn't forget everything he's been taught just because Zorn is in DC.

Guy I work with said all Zorn did was catch Hasselbeck's passes in practice. In Hasselbeck's defense he's throwing to 4th tier WR.

Either way the talent around him is totally gone. Zorn being gone has nothing to do with MH's problems. I watched a little of the Buffalo game against Seattle and their offensive line just got manhandled by Buffalo. Wasn't that their bread and butter a few years ago? MH didn't even have a chance. When you add that up with the situation at the wr position you see the results.

This is why Zorn as our head coach can work. Think about it our D has been solid and we have been able to run since Portis has been here. All we needed was a QB so Zorn being a Qb coach, Helping Campbell become the final piece to our puzzle.

Hasselbeck didn't just suddenly forget how to play quarterback. He's got no help, that's his problem.

Agree 100%. Imagine Campbell throwing to Brandon Lloyd and a tackling dummy and that's probably what it's like for Hasselbeck.
