I think, it doesn't really matter. Who cares what either of them say. I only care what they do or did on the football field.

Defensewins 09-17-2008, 10:33 AM B-Mitch would take Portis in a fight. Portis would probably throw out his bad shoulder or get injured. Or Portis will claim it was a pre-season fight and will wait for regular season fight. birdz4gibbs 09-17-2008, 10:53 AM I think, it doesn't really matter. Who cares what either of them say. FRPLG 09-17-2008, 11:24 AM 1. I don't know Portis, never met the man. Saw him once off the football field but that's the extent of it. Mitchell, on the other hand, I've known for 10 years and he can really get under your skin. He's an agitator, no doubt. 2. Mitchell needs the Redskins more than they need him. His post-NFL career (which was thanks to him taking advantage of the Redskins drafting him) has prominently been about being a DC area sports analyst. And what is bigger in DC sports than the Redskins? And what is the best way to get people to listen to you talk about the Redskins (or any team)? By being an agitator and stirring up debate and controversy 3. Portis doesn't set a good example Monday through Friday sure. But the good-for lack of a better word-thing about is that he doesn't claim to be. He admits that guys like Rock and Thrash are the leaders those days of the week. But on Sundays, it's on him. You know who else was like that? Riggins, Gary Clark, Marvin Harrison, and many more 4. So much for the claims that it would be all fluff once Snyder bought 980 You are and will remain my hero. FRPLG 09-17-2008, 11:28 AM I think of it this way. CP seems like the chillest dude in the entire world. Hell I HAVE met the guy in his house and I can tell you he is totally chill. Even on Sunday's when he is throwing down for us you never see him get angry. The only emotions he shows are joy and "psyched". So for him to actually get livid is an indication of how much crap BMitch gives him. Sheriff Gonna Getcha 09-17-2008, 11:32 AM I dont recall agreeing with any of CP's comments. I did say that teams dont respect our passing so they will key on the running. Hopefully JC can keep the passing going and open up the running game even more. Portis essentially said that teams do not respect our passing attack, they stack the box to stop Portis, and backs from other teams with other passing attacks, non-patchwork olines, and other schemes wouldn't do as well as he has in D.C. You've made statements that seem to concur wholeheartedly with Portis' comments. Hog1 09-17-2008, 11:36 AM I think of it this way. CP seems like the chillest dude in the entire world. As several others have stated, it may be B-mitch's job to be controversial, and provocative. HOWEVER, that does not give him a free ride on the flip side. You talk shit, you may get called on it. HE DID. AND, I thought he was totally taken back by Portis' intensity. CP had nothing to apologize for, and B may think twice about calling him on C-shit stuff (maybe not) Mission accomplished-CP HTTR hesscl34 09-17-2008, 12:35 PM Sometimes B.Mitch goes overboard but he's 100% correct on this one. Portis' comments were out of line last week. Simple as that. I think if you understand Portis and his personality that what he said wasn't that offensive and the media took it out of context. I'm glad he blasted BMitch. I get sick of him trashing his let's trash "Skin pick of the week". skinsfan69 09-17-2008, 01:46 PM I think if you understand Portis and his personality that what he said wasn't that offensive and the media took it out of context. I'm glad he blasted BMitch. I get sick of him trashing his let's trash "Skin pick of the week". I get how CP is. And I understand that it was taken a little out of context, and I think BMitch runs his mouth too much. But if CP thinks that there are no running lanes because teams don't respect the passing game then fine. I actually agree with him. But don't throw your QB and wr's under the bus to the media. Keep that crap in house. |
