Released by Jets: Jarrell Weaver - 4.26 - fastest Hurricanes

:FIREdevil ______ We were trying to sign Jarrell Weaver, before Herman Edwards stole him under our nose.

Jarrell Weaver, a collegiate linebacker for the Miami Hurricanes, serving as a top special teams player and back-up strong side linebacker during his undergraduate career. Weaver earned the distinction as the fastest Miami player in the 40-yard dash in 2003, posting a blazing 4.26 effort. He was the University of Miami’s special teams’ player of the year in 2003 and registered 65 career tackles on defense, five-and-a-half tackles for losses and a sack. Weaver played in all three preseason games for the Jets and recorded seven tackles along with one special teams tackle.

Knowing that our Safety positions need reinforcement, What - If - we convert Jarrell Weaver into a Safety _?
The guy is faster than Bowen or Lotts, and his Special Teams coverage skills is top notch.
What if Greg Wiliams can convert him into a Safety. --- I hope Greg Wiliams does NOT miss him,
like he missed on Marcus Washington coming out of college, Indys converted MW from DE to LB.

:grouphug:

Btw, Seahwaks Ray Rhodes is converting Michael Boulware ( Raven - Peter's brother ) from LB into a Safety.
I am praying Big - Time that Greg Wiliams and the Vinny Redskins Scouts have enough foresight to sign this hidden talent.

If he was released by the Jets, then that must mean something. But who knows? Could be worth taking a look at. Taylor might be able to convince the front office to sign him.

Id just like to let the record show that I didnt start this thread, and this it was someone else suggesting we go after a cane...heh

Its an interesting thought converting him to saftey. He cant be much worse then Lott or Bowen without experience, but that speed offers a lot of potnential to run players down, get to the ball, etc.
