I thought that was the only call to make there. It was too long for a FG and too short for a punt. And as for the slant the defensive formation made it possible for it to work. I bet the play call was made at the line by Campbell. He probably had the option to run or pass (at least I hope that's what happened)
Ya I agree. At that point it was the smart call. I sure don't trust Suisham and wouldn't put the game in his hands from that distance and the way Brooks was punting I would rather go for it on 4th against a weak and tired NO defense.

Actual the way Brooks was punting that was right in his rang .

Angry must be a fan of Colt Brennan or either Tony Romo.

That's funny, now go to the store and pick yourself up some original content.
I am superstitious and if the pessimism brings wins, then JC could screw up a kneel down.

I like the call. You can't give the ball back to NO and let the defesne try and win it. We saw that crap too much the last few years. Even if we don't make it I still like the call. Always play to win. It was one on one and that's what Santana is paid to do. Beat your guy one on one. But it sure took some balls.

Great call--it FELT soooo good to have confidence, make the gutsy call, and hit it for the WIN!
Confidence builder.

I don't know if anyone has said this yet (didn't feel like reading every post), but it was a low risk play. If we punted there wasn't much room there...and it was just out of Suisham's range, so that makes the decision pretty easy. Had he missed it, and (for instance) the Saints marched down the field and scored, we'd be ready to hang Zorn. But it was not a high risk move, and the defense set was perfect to run that slant. All in all, a great gutsy move.
