Positives Week 2

A win is a win and I'll not point out what needs work in my positive thread. Five positives again, everyone.

1. Chris Horton - You could say that he was in the right place at the right time and that other guys deflected the passes and stripped the ball. But Horton not only held onto the ball twice for picks but I'm sure his heart was going a mile a minute when he saw the fumble just lying on the ground.

2. Greg Blache - The Saints are a great offensive team with a ton of weapons at the skill positions even without Colston. Blache defied conventional wisdom as to when he blitzed and how to bottle up their playmakers. Not only did his gameplan work it might have laid a blueprint for other teams to try to emulate. For a team that lives off the big-play, Blache eliminated it and still applied pressure.

3. Santana Moss - 27 yards rushing and 164 receiving including the game's most explosive offensive play and it's last meaningful play. Who says midget's can't run a quick slant?

4. Defensive Line - Taylor and Griffin got a sack apiece but more importantly Bush was hit before he got out of the backfield on most plays and Brees was harrassed all afternoon. Add to it Evans tip leading to Horton's pick and you can see how this group that seemed a weak link six months ago is really looking good.

5. Cooley - You knew that last week was a mirage but it's stll good to see him back. Not only did he get 72 yards receiving, but he was instrumental blocking and did a great job sealing the edge on Portis' first TD.

See, I told you it would be easier after a win. I'm sure that there are plenty more positives (duh, we won).

Positive: Sally Jenkins will keep her trap shut this week.

I thought it was a great job all around. Our O had trouble findint the endzone but our D stood its ground. Our O made some great plays lat in the game to give us a win as our D still stood its ground. I just hope JC picked himself up off the ground and pick up some convidence today because he needed it. Hail To The Skins!!!!!!!!!!

I see the offense getting better and better and these FG's turning into TD's. Same with the D. We finally have some depth and some of these guys are really stepping up. The fact that our top 3 picks have'nt got going yet makes the future look very bright.

Positive: JLC won't make any unobjective observations concerning my boy (on a good week) Vinny C.

Negative: Larry Michael is still the Redskins radio announcer. (sorry but I've never heard Herbstreet complain while OSU lost big games where he was in the booth. Michael on the other hand looses his cool on a suposed missed call.)

i was stoked at jason taylors improved run defense i thought that was a big reason for containing reggie most of the day.

I think one thing that's going unnoticed is how great the coverage was all game.

Sure, they're without Colston, but in general Brees had NO deep or intermediate options to go to.

Well, we never saw how great it was becuase the ball never made it down there. Which of course proves it was good covereage...

On Moss... he is a 205lb "midget"?? .. I think not. The guy is fast as hell and can jump 5 feet into the air. I hope he gets some respect back this year.

Pass protection was other-wordly. Campbell had all friggin day to throw.

And the offensive line did the job in the run game too. That was a very encouraging sign.
