I also like how humble the guy was. He said he was really nervous, but Landry said he went into the game saying "I got this." And he said himself that he was just in the right place. He has taken no more credit then that.

I don't want to piss on his parade too much but let's face it he happened to be around the ball which was good of course, but it's not like he made those plays on his own, he just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Still, I'll take it. 2 INTs and a fumble recovery is a nice day at the office.

Being in position and around the ball is not all just luck.

If someone is constantly out of position and giving up big plays, would you just call him "unlucky"? Of course not.

I think Sean convinced God to send us Horton!!! He takes and he gives.

To steal a quote from the Wizard of Oz: "I Do Believe, I Do Believe, I Do I DO IDO!!! lol

Agreed. If people want to call it luck, then Horton must have a horse shoe up his ass, because he was constantly "lucky" in preseason too.

This thread is so silly. Horton got some balls that were tipped right to his hands. The worst NFL defensive back makes those plays.

At least he caught the balls. That's something our DB's have been lacking, Rogers and Smoot in particular. This guy has a nose for the football whether you think he was lucky or whatever, he has been doing this since our 1st exhibition game. Is that just luck or a pattern to good instincts?

I was thinking that same thing on both picks too... "WOW, WE CAUGHT THE BALL!"

To confirm our player crush or whatever you call it, Yahoo sports had this to say:

• Redskins rookie safety and 7th-round draft pick Chris Horton, who snagged two pivotal Drew Brees interceptions and also recovered a key fumble
Forget all the other stars, Horton was the difference maker in this game and should be defensive rookie of the week.

All I'm saying is his performance was not on the same level as a guy who jumped a few routes and made INTs that way. They were tipped balls, not really a good indication of his coverage skills. All in all I was happy with his performance, I would just like to see a bit more of him before I bench Doughty in his favor is all.

Whoaaa! Let's hold off on the "Horton sent by Sean" and "Horton is the second coming of ST" talk.

He played well. By luck, instincts or some combination of the two, he was in the right place at the right time AND took advantage of the opportunities presented. I will wait to see about his coverage abilities and his ability to make open field tackles.

What is his straight line speed, anybody know?

Also, what was the knock on him coming out of college?

I hope he continues to improve and be more than a one week wonder. But, as with the rest of the team, I am holding off judgment till week 6 or so. If he's starting and making plays then, it my time to fire up the bandwagon for him.
