I still believe that he needs to walk away for awhile (much like Ricky Williams). Maybe he can come back, maybe not. Either way, pay back a portion of the signing bonus and get on some medication.
With all of the poking and prodding from scouts and GM's you'd think they'd uncover mental instability.

Sounds like another case of Michael Westbrook; the game wants more out of you than you're willing/able to give.

Can't help but feel sorry for the guy.

Talking about suicide is no joke, anytime it's mentioned it needs to be taken seriously. I really hope that Vince Young gets everything figured out for him so he can make his life better because it would be a damn shame if he went that route.

As for the whole confidentiality thing going out the window, I think he deserves it to an extent. When I say that, I mean yes, his therapist should've told the police, but it should've been kept quiet between the cops and the therapist and members of his family, and the only way it should've gotten out was if VY or his family members decided to publicly release that information.

Dude has issues. Honestly, the stress of being an NFL QB is not for this guy. It's definitely not good for his wellbeing. If I were the Titans I would help him walk away from the game.

I know media outlets are "obligated" to report news, but this is a situation where I wish they would just sacrifice a good story and back off. Obviously the kid is under a massive amount of pressure and mentally unstable. Do you really need to broadcast what he told his therapist? Here's a suicidal young man dealing with a mountain of pressure, why not have a little compassion and respect for his privacy? I know it's damn near utopian to expect the media to have any concept of privacy, but I wonder if anyone considered that broadcasting all this may make the situation worse. Probably not.

I wish VY all the best. My freshman year of college one of my closest childhood friends hung himself, and it was because he was under an immense amount of pressure. Generations of the men in his family went to the Naval Academy. He didn't want to go, but was pressured to apply. He didn't get in, and, well...

Sorry about my rant. Sometimes the media REALLY pisses me off. Get well Vince.

Therapists are allowed to tell family and in this case the coach (Since VY is in very close contact with him) if the subject proves to be a danger to himself or others.

In this case, Young is a threat to himself and thus statements have to be released.

Now how the media got involved is a completely different story...
