Colleague Jason La Canfora noted yesterday that Vegas has turned rather quickly on the Skins, dropping them to about 100-1 odds to win the Super Bowl (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/2008/09/redskins_super_bowl_odds_in_th.html), which would place them in the bottom third of the league (http://sports.bodoglife.com/sports-betting/football-futures.jsp).

In truth, it's not really as dire as all that. The weekly Las Vegas Sports Consultants rankings--with LVSC advising the majority of Nevada casinos on initial lines--dropped the Skins from 12th in the league to 19th in the league after their opening-week loss, which came by about five points more than Vegas would have predicted....

Not so sure about atlanta being the bottom right now, but I agree with most of that assessment

well, remember the ramsey-coles tandem... they only lead the league in passing and receiving yards that year.... for 3 weeks.

i think vegas made long term assessments, and though ryan may have had a good week, once teams get film on him, it'll be a little harder to keep it up.

I was def. giving more credit to turner than ryan... I think he is the legitimate threat to a D. Maybe they are the worst, but something tells me chad pennington isnt going to stay healthy yet again, and even if he does he probably doesn't make that team much better anyway...
