If we could have an entire team made up of CP's we'd win every game. The dude's got a heart like Rudy.
Good video of Portis, for all you haters:

This is a pro-CP thread. I don't know that there are alot of CP haters. The intention of this thread was to point out that our defensive opponents throw 8-9 people in the box consistenly which limits CP's big runs. I want an offense that will keep the defense honest enough to give CP room to run downfield.

I understand it's a pro-CP thread, but there are haters ... trust me. Remember when Betts topped 1K?
Anyways, it's been a little while since we've seen CP break games, and I just wanted to remind people. Plus, I thought that was a good CP vid.

Yes! I've been wanting the Denver CP for years now, i feel he's been underutilized here. I would love to see him back at 5 yards per carry

Great CP vid. When he has a little space...he's one of the best. I like the sweeps and the QB fake left, kickout to CP right (it must have a name, i just don't know it). We need to see a little originality in the run game (on top of some assemblence of a passing game).

Underutilized? He's racked up a ton of carries here, probably too many in fact. I think he led the league in carries last year.
People can dream all they want about the Portis of old but he's a different player now. I actually think he's a more complete back now vs when he was in Denver.

"I can guarantee you there's never been a time a defensive coordinator came into the game and was like: 'Portis, don't worry about Portis. He's not capable of winning this game,' " Portis said. "I guarantee you that. I guarantee you when they turn on the film, they say, 'We stop Portis, we got a great chance.' "
Nuff Said.

Yep, that's about the whole game plan right there. Maybe we can get a passing game cranked up soon.

A running back is only as good as his offensive line (with the exception of Barry Sanders). Portis gives us 100% on every play, and I doubt many would contest that. So for him to not be hitting 1500 to 2000 yards every season has a lot more to do with the o-line than it does with Portis himself.
I'd like to see us use him more as a receiver out of the backfield, but I think we use him too much on running plays. We had an amazing running game when Betts helped out more. All in all, he's a stud, and I am not worried about him at all. He's one of the few areas that don't need some work.
