I dunno if this was covered in this article, but I think it is crazy how ESPN called this game almost a blowout...which it wasn't. Honestly, this was one of those ugly defensive struggles, where one offense (the Giants) did a bit better than the other (Redskins). The Giants moved the ball well in the first half, but only had one TD to show for, and three FGs. They didn't score at all in the 2nd half and never put the game away. The Redskins offense may have been dismal (sp?) in the first half, and were not good enough to catch up the Giants in the second half. I just don't see how this is a blow out. I'm not calling this a moral victory to the Skins whatsoever, but everyone makes it sound like we lost to the Giants 41-3.

To be quite honest, most of the media's OPINION does'nt mean squat to me. All I really want from them are the facts.

In the last 2 months I have grown weary of JLC whinning about Vinny and Snyder, however, he basicly calls Sally Struthers an idiot so he goes back up in my book.
I dont care what the rest of the media says, it just irks me she comes out like a vulture.

Funny how a lot of posters on this board echo the media's over-reaction to one loss yet continually gripe about 'no respect from the media'. It's also funny how the Giants coverage was far more complimentary that we actually played a tough game against them vs. our coverage of a disaster in the Meadowlands.
Nice perspective across the board.

I think it's one of those "I can talk bad about them but you can't" type of things. Personally I'm tired of hearing all the negative s@#t about the team from our own people. Did anyone think we were going to win all our games this year? One game and we're suppose to have everything down pat huh? Give the coaches time to do what they do. Ya'll complain when Snyder jumps the gun and gets rid of people before they have a chance. Is'nt that what's happening on these boards? Seems to me a lot of people want a messiah, not a football coach. Give the guy a chance to coach. Try looking for positives and you might see some. Any idiot with a pair of eyes can point out mistakes. Now if you're not smart enough to fix them, you've got a problem. Lets see what he does before we kick him out of town and hire yet another coach. Sometimes it feels like I'm on a cowgirls board.

Good job by Steinberg. NY Sally should not even be allowed to write about the Skins, she is a complete and total idiot. Bitter, party of one?

I hate Sally Jenkins. Apart from the fact that she goes out of her way to piss on the Skins, her overuse of cliche's used inappropriately is extremely grating.
I would contend that the Redskins identity is a strong defense that forces a team to play patiently, doesn't give up big plays and takes advantage of the other teams mistakes (which is what we saw Thursday except we dropped the ints that would have changed the game). Or was she expecting Zorn to take the field himself and wing it to Steve Largent while the Giants sit down and watch in awe at the miracle worker?
As for Mosley, stating that the 16-7 could have just as easily been 31-7, this is true except that it could have just as easily been 14-9 Redskins (Landry holds on to his pick which would have gone to the house, the questionable PI call isn't called, Jacobs is called for his obvious flagrant foul, and just for fun Carlos holds on to the ball Eli throws him in the endzone). We keep score for a reason. Don't tell us what could just as easily have been.

There are only two ways to "shut Sally Jenkins up". She will write about whatever she wants to write about and folks here need to deal with that.
But she won't write nasty things about the Redskins if either of two things happen:
1. Redskins win the NFC East.
2. Danny Boy sells the team.
Until then, look for her byline so you can avoid reading what she has to say - - except read enough so you can complain about it here.
