I thought that we passed too much in the first quarter and we didn't settle down the pass rush of the giants to make them respect the run. They were getting far too much pressure and the playcalling had a lot to do with it. In the 4th quarter they took far too much time calling plays. They should have had three or even four plays in advance as opposed to huddling up everytime. It bled too much time off the clock and we suffered for that. I am glad that the coaches are going to introduce a shotgun for this game upcoming. There is no sense in having a five step drop and when JC is getting hit at the top of the drop.

As for the two minute offense look at Zorn's presser from the 6th. he explains in extreme detail as to why they didn't run the two minute. Zorn felt the team would score and he didn't want to leave too much time. he wasn't being arrogant, it was a mistake and he admit it.

I think sometimes these coaches out think themself and make things too complicated. What if something happened and we needed more time then we are screwed. Just score and let the D do there job. Last night a coach decided not to run another play with 16 seconds on the clock and to score from like the 5 yard line. The players just stood around as the clock went down to a few seconds to kick a FG. The FG got blocked and they came away from a good drive with no points.

If it was the player not executing (giving campbell time, wrs routes, etc, etc) that is correctable. All i know is every team i see that runs exclusively gets dogged down. Look at the way the raiders got stomped...and the viks lost because the other teams dont respect the pass. There needs to be some focus on getting the passing attack on board. With a dynamic rusher like portis and even betts on your squad you have to trust that once the passing attack gets on board that it will free up the run and not vice versa.

Yes -- nothing irritates me more than to see teams all around the league have plenty of timeouts with a minute or so on the clock just before halftime, but play it conservative. They'll run it once or twice, and only if the RB breaks it for a long run will the coach attack downfield.

Didn't anybody learn anything from the Pats last year? You have to attack from start to finish. I'm sick of this play it safe, 'what if we throw an INT' mentality. Be aggressive and put the opponent on his heels.

Can someone please point out the rule which prohibits 4-wide shotgun formations on first down in quarters 1-3?

Madden kept repeating the Skins need work on thier 2 minute 4minute hell 60 minute offense! IMO the way the G-men wee stacking the line with 8men fronts' made JC jittery.

Exactly and who is responsible for this? The coach should put his players in a position to make plays and a game plan that suits their talents. I can't belive Zorn was talking about having Colt run two minute drills in preseason. Did he not have Jason run two minute drills? Was he too busy talking in the ear piece to notice the clock. WTF is going on with him? I dont understand it. If JC has a problem getting rid of the ball fast. Why isn't he working on that in practice. Why is Zorn not going deep more often? People bashed Gibbs but maybe Gibbs knew something we didn't.

We can blame JC. But I know Moss needs to stop freaking winning about getting the ball if he can't catch it and continue executing a play until the whistle gets blown. That is the reason for one of the picks in the Seattle game in the playoffs and two missed opportunities last game. You dont stop regardless finish your freaking route.

Why is Cooley not being used more often? Why isn't Portis catching more screens? I think JC is regressing but alot of it has to do with Zorns coaching. The good things Gibbs taught JC he is reversing them. He needs to know. This isn't the West Coast and soft a** AFC West. This is the NFC East. One of not the hardest divison in the NFL. He needs to step his game up and stop making excuses. He needs to say I freaking messed up and make better game plans and teach his team more discipline on running plays and how to go for first downs and stop freaking dinking and dunking. I hate this offense so far. I would take saunder back in a heart beat. The thing that kills JC is the inconsistency in the FO and having different offensive systems every year. He is not playing his A game by far. But Zorn should have him and the rest of the team more prepared and fire up. Even if he has to use some four letter words!!

We had a classic case of Marty Ball. You guys remember Marty all he did was run. He killed the Chargers in the playoffs a couple of times with it. Defense will stack eight in the box on us and then give us the underneath stuff on 3rd and long. Defense made simple by dumb play calling.

You know as much as people hate to admit it the NFL has been changing the past few years, the rules get bent every year to enable higher scoring, faster action games...its what brings in the excitement, the revenue. Somehow we need to find a philosphy that adapts to this changing beast, and remove our self from the smashmouth temple that we reside in. The running gods left with riggins and byner, the hogs were roasted with great glee as the allmighty gibbs empire was overthrown with his departure. I had high hopes that Dr. Z was innovative as a refreshing sci fi flick in his play calling and philosophy. That we could all sit around in a state of zen and for one moment....one instant as redskins fans proudly look up and say...we have it....a new offense...one that can score and dominate against whatever foe.
