There's much more to it than the play of your QB. JC didn't look great tonight, but name me someone who did who wasn't returning kicks. JC gets a pass in my book until it becomes obvious that he is the weakest link.
JC is not what I thought.Pages :

JC gets a pass in my book until it becomes obvious that he is the weakest link. celts32 09-04-2008, 11:52 PM JC didn't lose this game. We got whipped on both lines of scrimmage. Beemnseven 09-04-2008, 11:53 PM Here's the question you have to ask: Are Campbell's problems related to learning a new offense, or is he regressing in key facets of game play that would show up in any offensive scheme? According to the sideline reporter from NBC tonight (can't think of her name), Zorn said Campbell "has to read the defense." This is Campbell's fourth season in the league and Zorn has to remind him to do that? It doesn't help that the same group of offensive linemen from last season apparently have all forgotten how to pass block. skinsguy 09-04-2008, 11:55 PM Jason's got a lot to learn with this offense. It's obvious. He still has to learn to get rid of the ball earlier. But ya know, Zorn also needs to learn to manage the game better as well. This year is going to be a learning process for both the coaches and the players. If you're expecting perfection right out of the gate, you're seriously mentally ill. DynamiteRave 09-04-2008, 11:57 PM someone give me the definition of pathetic please? Campbell was 15/27 for 133 yards and 1 TD. "The key to this game was third down efficiency. The Giants were sharp when it counted most, converting 7-of-14 for the game. On their four first-half scoring drives, they were even better, delivering on 5-of-8 third downs. On the flip side, the Giants' defense was just as dominant on third down, holding the Redskins to just three conversions in 13 attempts and forcing Campbell to throw short of the first-down marker repeatedly throughout the game" "Jim Zorn made his coaching debut for the Redskins and showed his West Coast offense still has a ways to go. The Redskins had only 174 total yards and only 98 through the air. ..." All this = Not good. Pathetic may be strong. But it was definitely bad. Ruhskins 09-04-2008, 11:59 PM ........no turnovers, 1 sack against a great d-line, no help from the receivers I don't get how he was pathetic? I'm not saying that JC had a perfect games, and Lord knows I was going insane when he was holding the ball in the first half. But he looked good in that TD drive (notice that Manning did not throw for a TD and with all the passing yard, he never put the game away). There were some opportunities in which the receivers were not open, receivers dropped the ball, and plays were negated by penalties (one catch that cooley had in the first half that was call back). Besides, for every Sean Payton out there (rookie coach that succeeds) there are many rookie coaches that won't succeed in their first season. People say that Zorn inherited a playoff team, but this is a playoff team with issues that were not necessarily addressed in the offseason (i.e. WRs). JC is not the QB that will make players around him better (unlike Payton Manning or Tom Brady) he needs good players around him, and right now our WRs group is the same as last year and are showing the same problems. The day that we replace our QB this year, is the day that we go into rebuilding mode. I don't think after 0-1 is that time to do it. WaldSkins 09-04-2008, 11:59 PM Schneed will be around with his "Retarded Thread" very soon. :goodjob: While I agree JC was pretty pathetic, I'm not ready to give up on him. It's a new offense, first week. Give him some more time. I think if JC gets a new offense every year, then he will never get critized because its always his "first year in the system". Im pretty sure in the west coast or spread or gibbs or Al Saunders offensive system that if the first down is 7 yards away, you throw for 7 yards. Not 4 yards. Ah lets give him some more time. Beemnseven 09-05-2008, 12:01 AM Jason's got a lot to learn with this offense. It's obvious. He still has to learn to get rid of the ball earlier. But ya know, Zorn also needs to learn to manage the game better as well. This year is going to be a learning process for both the coaches and the players. If you're expecting perfection right out of the gate, you're seriously mentally ill. Every year there's a built-in excuse for this team. Portis, Fletcher, Brooks. wilsowilso 09-05-2008, 12:04 AM Hey nobody can argue that great QB play in the NFL makes any team legit. I sure as hell want JC to be a bad ass, but I was so disgusted tonight because it seemed that JC was sitting on the shore of his country home chilling out with no care in the world. Thanks, but you are fired. |
