How about if the WR actual ran past the first down marker? Just a thought.

This team has the same problems as it did last year. Moss still drops passes. Our corners drop interceptions. The clock management is horrible. And, we're still shooting ourselves in the foot with stupid penalties. And, when the game is on the line and we need a touchdown we throw it to Thrash?

Well, I hope they'll realize what they need to work on for next week. The defense stepped up in the 2nd half.

This game was rather disappointing. There is room for growth here. I do think the game plan left something to be desired and our expectations for a more exciting and imaginative offense were not fulfilled. The defense played hard. We will get better as everyone learns and grows. But I am not so sure I can learn to love the short passing game. We will get better.

The most obvious statement ever:

Flat out, I don't think the Saints have a better O than the Giants. I think the defense really played well against a tough offense. They got better as the game went on and I have no doubt they get better as the year goes on.

The offense has a canyon to cross.

Zorn will learn. So will the offense. Too bad it has to happen in the season, but there's no substitute for that. Remember, it's an EXTREMELY tough early schedule. We need to have some patience. And that means being able to deal with seeing poor offensive football. There is no miracle quick fix.

hmmm...one thing thta i havent really seen hit on earlier, but our whole entire teams seemed as if they did not want to play, with execption of portis, and brooks.
and plus to me it appeared on that very first sack of the first drive CAMPBELL freaking walked into that sack, he got scared and ran out of the pocket! i mean come on!

I thought there were several plays where Rogers was dogging it

wow,I love your optimism,I cant say anything good now, cant say I'm surprised by the loss, but I am surprised by so many things I dont know where to start

It's not optimism, it's realism. It's one game, one road game. We can't just throw in the towel now. Well, we can I suppose. But how would you like it if that's what Zorn, Blache or any of the other players decided to do now? If they just quit?

We need Springs healthy and playing (very disappointed in him), we need Taylor at 100%, we need Golston back out there. We need to convert 3rd downs, we need to play Thrash more until Thomas or Kelly is ready. We need to get Cooley in the offensive gameflow from the first play of the game. We need to make plays on defense when we're in position to do so (all the dropped interceptions).

It's a lot, but it's not impossible to think it will happen sooner than later

The West Coast is a lot of shorter passes, but yeah you should have routes that will effectively get you the first down. Like I said in a previous post, most of the NFL is throwing short anymore on 3rd and long. They are counting on YAC too much. This is scary to say, but I am very much missing Norv and Gus right now, and their old pal Terry Allen.
