Hey it could be worse, we could have David Carr, Alex Smith, or Chris Redman as our backups. LOL.

It's funny, whenever one of our player gets some nice props people want to knock them down. But whenever we feel they got "dissed" we're up in arms over it. You just can't win.

Well one thing we can agree on Matty is the receivers arent up in arms... Of course that is because we are still in need of a tall receiver like Joe Horn (see other thread)...if our short receivers are up in arms we just cant see them

The fact that Colt Brennan isn't listed #1 clearly demonstrates his lack of knowledge.

I think he knows a inside tip that Brennan will start the season as our starter.

In all seriousness i think that Brady Quinn is better then Collins.

Based on what exactly? A hunch? Because Quinn as you know hasn't even smelled the field yet in the regular season.

I think TC is a top 5 back-up. But the best back-up in the NFL is Kerry Collins. I think he's better than half the current starters in the league. He's better than the starter on his own team! I just don't understand why a team like Baltimore doesn't just go out and get a guy like Kerry Collins.I think there are a lot of good backups in the NFL, but I don't think Kerry Collins is one of them. He might be better than Young right now though, he was last year.

But I do agree with you that if Baltimore wanted a short term fix at QB (which is what they did with McNair), they could have gone out and got a Brunell, or a Kerry Collins, or a Griese, or a Leftwich, or a Culpepper, or a Sage Rosenfels, and they would be the overwhelming favorites in the AFC North. Not all of those guys are particularly great passers, but they are all known quantities who could win on a team with that kind of defense.

Based on what exactly? A hunch? Because Quinn as you know hasn't even smelled the field yet in the regular season.I share WaldSkins opinion, but I don't know if I have a particularly great defense for that position. I would argue that being better than Todd Collins is exactly what I would expect from any 1st round pick in his 2nd year, and Brady Quinn is probably a special case in that he was the most complete prospect coming out of college in recent memory.

That, and I think a lot of people (Don Banks included) are tricking themselves into thinking that seeing that 7 good halves of football plus a shaky playoff game means that Todd Collins is a top of the line quarterback. He probably isn't, and he's on film now. We simply don't have any sort of significant sample on Todd Collins other then enough to say that the people (like me) who thought he didn't belong in the NFL were probably wrong.

Banks is making a big guess on Collins' future to rank him No. 1. I really hope we don't have to find out whether last year was for real or not.
