Should The Starters Play Against Jacksonville?

On the one hand, there's the feeling that the starters need to play, play a considerable amount, on Thursday night after the beatdown they took in the only "meaningful" preseason game.

On the other hand, why risk serious injury in a game that is historically the most meaningless of games?

Not only the injury risk, but we play on Thursday night, only a week from the Jacksonville game.

I think the offensive starters should get one series, and then come out. The defensive veterans should get the night off entirely.

The O needs a lot of work. They should play well into the 2nd qtr. The D can play a quarter and be done.

Our offense couldn't get any worse. I just want us to get SOMETHING going, whether it means a series or a quarter..

I voted for 1 quarter, but after thinking about it I'm not feeling so good about the vulnerability of JC the way the line has broken down & he's held the ball.

Remember, Grilliams is their D coordinator & we know he won't hesitate to blitz like mad in a preseason game. He's got a chip on his shoulder after the danny didn't hire him & he might send the house after JC.

Id like to see a scoring drive, but when we get to Jax's 2nd defense, we should pull out our starting O.

Give them the night off. With a short week before the opener I would keep both units fresh.

YES, we cannot begin the season on the heals of Saturdays loss!

I voted one or two series but like others worry about injury. If we wouls loose a key player it would do much more harm than the little good that could come from playing.

The risks outweigh the potential gains, most likely Jacksonville will not be playing their first teamers anyway, we already dodged too many bullets in the last game, I strongly suspect that most of the team took the night off last week anyway hence the blowout, so what's to stop them from doing it again. We're not going to go undefeated this year anyway, give them the week off and let them start fresh when it counts...
