I voted no, but mot because I'm scared of injuries. I would make the starters be chomping at the bit to get out on the field and redeem themselves. I want that bad taste in their mouth until we play NY.
Should The Starters Play Against Jacksonville?KLHJ2 08-25-2008, 02:17 PM I voted no, but mot because I'm scared of injuries. Players Say They Want to Play Thursday - Redskins Insider (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/2008/08/players_say_they_want_to_play.html#more) CRedskinsRule 08-25-2008, 04:09 PM I voted for a series, or two. You can't remove Saturday's memories by keeping them in longer. They will have to do that for themselves, and in the games that count. I would get our borderline players out on the field against the better Jags players hopefully it will be the last they see of the field until the offseason. We want to make sure that we keep the right 53 guys, we know who will be starting. Warpath 08-25-2008, 06:29 PM I voted on a quarter but the 3rd preseason game (4th for us) is usually the 'dress rehearsal' and I bet they don't play at all against the Jags and eventhough they looked bad in Carolina they could look worse in NY if they lose anyone else. mcarey032 08-26-2008, 10:33 AM I think that a quarter should be enough, obviously it would depend on what they do. I know that the players think that they don't need to play much, but seriously, the way that they played on Saturday was totally apathetic and they really didn't battle for their coaches on gameday. They were supposed to look great and show what they knew after 39 days of two a days. They really showed that they didn't know a whole lot and I think that they were resting on their laurels of the preseason to that point. IMO, they need to show at least one strong quarter this Thursday to show me what they know. doughtydoubter 08-26-2008, 11:20 AM I say no time at all...the skins seem to be cursed by the injury bug every year. If Cooley or campbell or one of our starters goes down, we will be all kicking ourselves and being like...THAT WAS THE STUPIDEST DECISION EVER. I do agree the offense is lacking. But, i think so many players (esp on the offensive line) were playing scared. Playing not to get hurt. When you have 7 out of 11 guys on the field playing cautious, nothing good can happen from that. skinsnut 08-26-2008, 11:23 AM What bothers me is that Zorn is playing the offense, while Blache is letting the defense fume....is this 2 separate teams or 1? The offense needs to find a groove and take something... anything positive out of Thursday's game. The defense should be better suited if they sit and stew on that lousy performance. doughtydoubter 08-26-2008, 02:08 PM i agree with this article whole heartedly ESPN - Zorn's about to make a big mistake - NFC East (http://myespn.go.com/blogs/nfceast/0-2-143/Zorn-s-about-to-make-a-big-mistake.html) |
