Yeah, I know neither one had a real shot, but I do know that there were a lot of Justin Hamilton supporters around so I figured they might have an interest in this. Plus it helps people be able to figure out the 53 man roster better. doughtydoubter 08-26-2008, 06:06 PM i wouldnt be suprised if hamilton made ps. Rob jackson too. I also look for tryon/richardson to be there. SmootSmack 08-26-2008, 06:50 PM putting in springs is definitely the most solid option, i agree that the rookies probably couldnt play much better at this point than reed, but can they play much worse? I think everyone is pretty much agreed this is the glaring weak link in our team. The problem is with the shawn springs sollution, are we set enough with torrence as a nickel back? i think it will be curious to see how this situation plays out during the season. First. Welcome to the board Second. The Bears let Ricky Manning go today, he would be worth a look for a nickel/dime position in my opinion. RMSkins 08-26-2008, 07:08 PM First. Welcome to the board Second. I definitely agree with you about giving Manning a look. I am sure he's an upgrade over Leigh Torrence. GTripp0012 08-26-2008, 07:11 PM First. Welcome to the board Second. The Bears let Ricky Manning go today, he would be worth a look for a nickel/dime position in my opinion.I thought about this one for awhile, but Ricky Manning is from the school of Kenny Wright, that is: a mediocre nickel back, but a liability should the players ahead of him get injured. He's better than 07 Torrence, but worse then what I hope 08 Torrence will be. skinsnut 08-26-2008, 07:24 PM I don't know I guess it all depends on who you consider to be a "surprise player", but if I had to go with one I would pick CB Matteral Richardson. I think he clearly has outplayed Tryon, Westbrook, and Holt to be the 5th CB on the roster. Either way I think the 5th CB is going to come down to Tryon and Richardson and whichever one doesn't make the active roster is going to be placed on the PS. Richardson would be a suprise to me...but I dont think Tryon has earned a spot either...its possible we hit up a free agent for #5 too Torrence is a lock, hes looked improved to me..a decent #4 and arguably #3 potential on other teams. At this point the only question is if they keep Chris Wilson, Mason or McMullen. Not much has changed. I say, Wilson and McMullen are likely gone to make way for Mason. They need to send Mason out in 4 WR sets to see if they can get WR value there skinsnut 08-26-2008, 07:27 PM i wouldnt be suprised if hamilton made ps. Rob jackson too. I also look for tryon/richardson to be there. Rob Jackson has already outplayed Chris Wilson and is probably just below EJames. He probably has a 50/50 shot unless the Skins pick up DL LB or Safety Depth from other cuts...hed be the first to go because of his practice squad eligibility SmootSmack 08-26-2008, 09:10 PM I thought about this one for awhile, but Ricky Manning is from the school of Kenny Wright, that is: a mediocre nickel back, but a liability should the players ahead of him get injured. My "desire" for Manning would be more due to Springs getting the majority of his playing time this year at safety, not as a replacement for Torrence necessarily. doughtydoubter 08-26-2008, 09:39 PM i think manning would be a solid pickup myself...indeed to make for springs at saftey which would ultimately improve our apparent weakest spot on defense. |
