I know that Reed has taken a lot of heat over his performance Saturday (and rightfully so), but I think this is a case where his a good player to have on the team a good locker room guy and a good special teams guy, the problem comes that the more he plays the more other teams are able to expose him - he's good when he has to come in and play a couple of games for an injured player. I think you'll see an indirect competition between Horton and Moore and as soon as the Coaching staff feels that one of them is ready to start - you'll see Reed benched and Landry moved to whatever spot is open.
I think Moore will evntually be the starter by the end of the year..He has looked impressive and for that matter..Horton might move up the chart also. I would be suprised if Doughty is down to 4th on the depth chrt by the end of the year. Not saying he isn't decent. But these guys are playing decent and they hardly know the defense..So imagine when they get more comfortable. I still like Doughty though. But he gets exposed in pass coverage situations.

What do you guys know about Derrick Pope LB cut from the Vikes?
Hes a young ex-starter....and we arguably need a vet backup LB.
Who else is there at LB or DT or perhaps Safety that we should be looking to pick up?
Im kinda suprised they cut Fox leaving us with no experience at safety...
I dont like 2 rookie backups...I guess their primary backup just may be Springs if they dont find a quality cut

Horton has done well at Strong Safety...
Im not so sure about Moore, his angles sucked bad last game...allowing 3 TDS after 6 solid plays.
Perhaps he needs to adjust to the speed of the game...but each time his angle made him end up behind the ball carrier when he was the last line of defense....he obviously should be ahead of the ball carrier with his helmet crossing their body....it wasn't even close...until he corrects this glaring weakness,...I'd consider him for practice squad and be on the lookout for a decent Free Safety with experience....I never loved Fox, but he was servicable as a backup FS....It looks like Springs will be the backup FS unless we get lucky with cut dates

As most of you know i have recieved some heat and some thanks for Reed Doughty. We really wouldnt be talking about this if it wern't the sad death of Sean. Why do i dislike Doughty? (who seems cool) he was ONLY a replacement for Sean. When he passed he was there those 4 gms. In the offseason we drafted 2 safties which already told me he was nothing more than a special teams guy. When you respond PLEASE dont say laron landry or just give it time. Teams ARE NOT afraid to go after Reed Doughty!!!

Go back and watch the tape. Moore had bad angles because of all the tackles that were missed earlier in the play causing Moore to have to compensate for the missed tackles and thus creating his bad angles. The point is those plays should've been stopped way before they got to Kareem. And there is no way Moore is going to be on the practice squad, he is, as for now, Landry's primary backup at FS.

I think we defnitely need to look at a LB in the pool of cut players and hope that some teams had to let some guys go because they are stacked at that position. Especially with Marcus hip injury that might plague him through out the year (hopefully not) and Rocky Mcintosh trying to get back in to game shape. Those are my primary concerns. I think the O-line will improve and I think Heyer and some of those other fill-ins playing last year might have been a blessing in disguise. I believe in Bugel he will whip these guys into shape. I think we should also look at some DTs. Just my IMO.

So: Toler, Sinclair, Fox, Smith, and Oshinowo are the five cut by this Tuesday?
22 more to go.

I understand that...however...he is the free safety...and his job is to make the stop when there is a mistackle up front....and there were too many of those...however....I am not letting him off the hook...he didn't do his "safety" job 3 times and that equals 21 points.

will mason make the final 53? an extra reciever? maybe mcmullen? i have to believe devine, rob jackson, tryon, and perhaps crummney and jason goode are all destined for practice squad.
