I agree except I'd rather have Fincher over Sinclair and keep Fox as a 5th safety over Tryon.
Didnt we only have 5 cornors last year also?

Your final 53mlmpetert 08-19-2008, 06:38 PM I agree except I'd rather have Fincher over Sinclair and keep Fox as a 5th safety over Tryon. Didnt we only have 5 cornors last year also? GTripp0012 08-19-2008, 06:41 PM Lets start with the guys we know are making the team: Campbell, Collins, Brennan Portis, Betts, Cartwright Sellers Moss, Randle El, Thrash, Kelly, D. Thomas Cooley, Yoder, Davis Samuels, Jansen, Kendall, R. Thomas, Rabach, Heyer, Fabini, Rinehart 23 on offense Suisham, Brooks or Frost, Albright J. Taylor, Carter, Griffin, Golston, Montgomery, Evans McIntosh, Fletcher, Washington, Blades Springs, Smoot, Rogers, Torrence Landry, Doughty 16 on defense Okay, so the offense should be a lot easier to figure out than the defense. They don't need anything more at any specific position, so I'm guessing they keep Mason and Geisinger to make 25 players on offense. If they keep another WR, I think Mix gets the nod, but if he's not healthy enough to play in the last preseason game, they will open with 5 WRs. Defense is much more wide open, obviously. I'm starting to think that they are only going to keep 5 linebackers...they just haven't made much of an effort to improve the position. Alfred Fincher stays, the rest go. On the DL, I could see them keeping up to ten, with Alexander and Boschetti reinforcing the tackles, and Erasmus James and Rob Jackson adding some additional situational pass rushers to the mix. This opens the door for ten members of the secondary to be on the 53 man roster. The team will be able to give Justin Tryon more time to develop without forcing him to be active, and they will be able to keep Richardson at the beginning of the season, along with the other 5 corners. Richardson may not finish the year with the team, but I think he'll be on it Week One. The rookies Kareem Moore and Chris Horton will fill out the roster at safety, with Vernon Fox on the wrong side of the bubble. RMSkins 08-19-2008, 06:46 PM QB (3): Campbell, Collins, Brennan RB (4): Portis, Betts, Cartwright, Mason FB (1): Sellers TE (3): Cooley, Davis, Yoder OL (9): Samuels, Kendall, Rabach, Thomas, Jansen, Heyer, Rinehart, Fabini, Geisinger WR (6): Moss, Randle El, Thomas, Kelly, Thrash, McMullen DE (5): Carter, Taylor, Evans, James, Wilson DT (4): Griffin, Montgomery, Golston, Alexander LB (6): Washington, Fletcher, McIntosh, Blades, Campbell, Fincher CB (5): Springs, Rogers, Smoot, Torrence, Richardson S (4): Landry, Doughty, Moore, Horton SP (3): Albright, Brooks, Suisham PS (8): Jackson, Tryon, Gatewood, Crummey, Goode, Clark, S and WR not currently on roster. RMSkins 08-19-2008, 06:48 PM I pretty much agree with what you have, but im going to say we keep Wilson on the dline. Moore wont make the final 53. I think we use Springs as a CB/S. I would be willing to bet that Kareem Moore makes the final 53, barring any injuries. Ade Jimoh Fan Club 08-19-2008, 07:07 PM Rob Jackson on the Practice Squad scares me. He can be picked up to any team's roster from there, right? I'm sure he'll be gone. I say we keep him on the roster and take a chance. Or trade him to the Patriots for THE ADE! 4thGenRedskin21 08-19-2008, 07:11 PM Rob Jackson on the Practice Squad scares me. He can be picked up to any team's roster from there, right? What do we have of value that we can offer if the Patriots offer THE ADE? We're screwed if we put him on the PS. (Then again, we'd solidify the secondary with a Shut-Down corner and Special Teams Deamon). Practice squad it is! GoSkins! 08-19-2008, 07:22 PM So, nobody thinks that Wade makes the cut? Even with Geisinger and Crummey being able to be put on the practice squad and Zorn's comments about needing veteran depth on the o-line? Just wondering? GTRIPP, I agree about Fincher. The guy is always around the ball. Now that Alexanders back is hurting it makes it even more likely. dmvskinzfan08 08-19-2008, 10:53 PM Post your roster predictions here. Here's my final 53. QB (3): Campbell, Collins, Brennan RB (4): Portis, Betts, Cartwright, Mason FB (1): Sellers TE (3): Cooley, Davis, Yoder WR (6): Moss, Randle El, Thrash, Kelly, Thomas, McMullen OL (9): Samuels, Kendall, Rabach, Thomas, Jansen, Fabini, Heyer, Rinehart, Geisinger DL (8): Taylor, Carter, Griffin, Montgomery, Golston, Alexander, James, Evans LB (6): Fletcher, McIntosh, Washington, Blades, Campbell, Sinclair CB (6): Springs, Smoot, Rogers, Torrence, Tryon, Richardson S (4): Landry, Doughty, Moore, Horton K: Suisham P: Brooks Snapper: Albright Edit: switched out Wilson for Evans. Excellent!! I totally agree with you on this. Except. Tryon has to truly step his game up!!! I like Justin Hamilton so far..But the number dictate he is likely going to be on the PS. 70Chip 08-19-2008, 11:20 PM I want one more game before I make my cuts. I'm leaning toward 6 WRs but I'm not sure who the last one is. Of course, I'm not married to keeping the two draftees. 2nd round picks have gotten cut before. I'd also be more comfotable with 10 OL than 9. It's a shame we can't stash a few guys on IR. |
