LOL,so you were wrong about last year, why are you right this year?

Remember ...........they did win the Super bowl,11 straight road wins and the last being .Bucs,Cowgirls,Packers and Pats...............that's not a hot streak ,that's being GOOD!

Okay...we'll see how it plays out. Feel free to bring this thread up if they do well, I don't have any problem admitting when I'm wrong.

I'm still 100% certain they weren't the best team in the NFL last season, but they played their best football at the right time and got a few breaks. I'm not saying that they're not good, those breaks wouldn't have meant anything if they weren't good. David Tyree's catch wouldn't have made the highlight reel if they were trailing by 35. However, I don't see it happening again this year. I think they're in for a pretty big letdown.

However, like I said, I could be wrong, if I am, you can bring this thread back up.

I will also add: What if they hadn't held the Skins on 4th and 1 last year? They probably would have fired Coughlin and lost that season. And: Do you think they're a better team this year than they were last year?

I am generally not one that makes bold predictions, but looking at our schedule i believe we could be anywhere between 12-4 & 10-6. I think our schedule sets up for a big run in the middle of the season, and that gives us a little room to go 2-2 in the first 4 and 3-2 the last 5. We have the offensive talent to put points up, no matter if Zorn is a 1st year coach. He isn't exactly walking into a rebuilding team. Our D (if healthy) can play with anyone.

I have pretty big expectations for this season. this season just seems to have a different, quite confidence about it. No big name players signings out of want, or for the big promotions, Taylor was out of need more than anything.

Dallas will win the division 13-3
Giants 8-8 maybe 9-7. Eli didn't have a great year, Defense is what won that championship and I dont think the defense is going to be that dominant this year. Strahan leaves a huge hole on the the left end.
Eagles - they just dont impress me like they use to. McNabb can hardly out run his Oline man, westbrook is bound to miss 3 to 4 games, and they have no receivers. the defense is getting old, Dawkins while he is still good is losing some steps. They have good corners, but overall the defense is not as dominant as in years past.

Redskins 12-4.......I'm predicting four losses because we have a new coach with a new passing system and he's got all of his new division rivals on the road to start things off. We also have a couple of our key players in Rogers and McIntosh coming back from serious injuries. There is also Landry, who just can't seem to get over his pulled hammy.........He better get better before the season starts! Or we're going to be hurting!
Cowboys 8-8.........Their defense sucks! Their running game sucks too! I almost listed them lower on the list, but the teams they play suck a little more than they do so I was nice and gave them 8-8.
Giants.......Can't really predict for this team. They're superbowl one week and then they suck the next week. And then you see Coughlin screaming on the sideline. I can't help but think he's going to have a stroke or a heart attack if he keeps doing that....................I'm going to say 10-6 though, but don't hold me to that.
Philly 5-11............Dawkins doesn't scare me anymore and neither does Shepard. Their linebacking corps sucks and so does their line with an exception of Trent Cole. They have, who I believe a Hall of Fame quarterback in McNabb, but not one good reciever for him to throw too...........I know he has westbrook, but that dude is a running back. I was going to give them a few more wins just because of McNabb, but defenses will key on him again this year and probably injure his ass again while doing so.

The last question is it for me, and I would answer 'no way!'

With all due respect, the rest of your post is kinda pointless. The Giants were the best team in the nfl because they won the super bowl, that's the ONLY measure we have of who's best. If what you're saying is they weren't the most talented, then I agree fully, but talent alone doesn't make a team.

I just don't think it's much worth it to point out a team's flaws after they just won the biggest game of all. It actually kinda reminds me of the 88 Skins. I remember so many fans talking about how that team wasn't that good, could only win in a strike year, etc. Fact is they won & won big. The Giants didn't win w/that kind of margin but they beat arguably one of the greatest teams the league has seen in many years. No need to debate whether they "deserved" to win or not.

That tirade aside, I agree w/you about the g-men this year. Just like the 89 skins they will have a tough time putting that kind of season together again. The maxed out last year. Plus they've lost a lot of key pieces and let's not exaggerate about dudes like Kevin Boss. Good TE for a 6th round pick or whatever, but no comparison to shockey.

Eli takes too much heat & I think he's a good qb, but he's gonna have a tough time this year & once he does, the NY faithfull will let him know.

The G-men deserve a lot of props & they're a great franchise, but I don't see them winning more than 8 games, one of which I'm sad to say will likely be at our expense.

I think the Giants could have a bad year mostly because of the typical SB hangover that most teams have. Otherwise, they are a question mark since last year they got their act together at the right time.

The Giants have the schedule to put them in control of the division early on in the season.

6 of thier first 10 games of the season are at home (thats sick)(in contrast 6 of Dallas's for 10 games are on the road). Of those 6 Giants home games 3 are against playoff teams from 2007, but only 2 of those 3 teams had winning road records in 2007. The other 3 teams they play are all sub-500 for 2007, and are not projected to improve dramtically in 2008.

So it's easy to see how they might start the season strong & then falter at the end, which is actually how Coughlin teams usually play, last year being a great exception to that.

I hear you, but 11 straight road wins including the playoffs at Dallas, at Green Bay and at New England (Giants were the visiting team at the SB). Not to mention that the Giants were 0-4 against those teams in the regular season. Until they prove otherwise, I humbly give them the benefit of the doubt.
