well the Post confirms what i was afraid of. Barrow's injury isn't just Tendonitis, and LaVar's sprain is bad enough to miss some games.

no matter how much they insist, i still say they should miss this week AND the final preseason game, just for that extra week of healing they won't get again till the bye week. yes, its a big shame they haven't played together in the new system yet, but they both really need to be as healthy as possible once the season starts. LaVar's talent and Barrow's vast experience/smarts should overcome any initial rustiness...

dammit Barrow, you're an old man now. take it easy. LaVar, we know you're a beast, but don't push it. not yet anyway.

And there's especially no reason to play on the astroturf in St. Louis.

I think it's good news that Barrow doesn't have tendonitis, which I think is a chronic problem. A tendon strain he will recover from.

The problem is that hes missing all this time and hes supposed to be making all these calls, and so forth.

However, there's a plus side here: Pierce and others are getting a chance they wouldn't have otherwise. They are getting valuable experience and if called upon later in the year will be much better players for it.

Honestly, Barrow may not see the field if he's out too long.

I agree with Ill. Keep both of those guys resting and recovering from their injuries. Especially Barrow. He's older, so the more time he gets to recover the better. We have 2 more weeks until Tampa, so take advantage of it. Plus it's only preseason and we get to see how much depth we have at the LB position. I'm comfortable with letting them both sit out the rest of the preseason.

Yep, let those guys stay out and get well for the season! Daseal, if Barrow gets well for the season, he will play regardless of whether he plays the last 2 preseason games or not. The backups are too far below his skill level to keep him on the bench.

Yeah but as Gibbs said its dangerous from a conditioning standpoint, and doesnt getting familiar with one another count anymore? Or have Danny's ways eliminated all posibilities of that from now on

I agree, Mitchell and Pierce aren't going to keep Barrow on the bench. If Barrow can go he'll be out there.

Even if Barrow doesnt take a snap until week one, he'll still start. Williams is very impressed with him and his leadership. He said Barrow is at everypractice by his side leraning the system and the plays, and he has full confidence hes a vetern and will be able to step right it.
