Sorry Beg8. tried to warn ya.
seriously though, ESPN's flux capacitor has the technical edge over Madden's 5 year old warp coils....
flux capacitor? wait a minute I get it now. So if we put Madden in a car and hit 88 MPH we can go back in time and right their wrongs!...1.21 Jigowatts...Hello McFly!!

i want my game to LOOK as much as the real thing as it feels to play. sound too. and while no match for a PC resolution wise, Xbox does allows for near HiDef 480p to TVs bigger than any PC monitor, usually connected to real non-computer surround sound set-ups. hearing MY favorite songs and the custom Hail to the Redskins in surround stadium sound is AMAZING. again, depends how extreme you want to go... they make 60"+ plasma TVs now with resolutions up to 1920x1280 (or 1440, forget how wide screen it is), and you can buy mackie HR824 studio monitors and their matching sub for surround sound... my friend uses event 6s cause they're cheaper... but they'll sound WAY better than any home stereo setup ;)
http://www.samash.com/images/items/mSWA1801.jpg <-- subwoofer, 3 feet tall, 1500watts peak... if you really want lifelike sound :) (my band owns it as part of our sound reinforcement setup for live shows... in the off time all this crap gets used as TV/computer audio)
its a bit much for just tv/computer audio, but at least its not 900,000$ home stereo (with no other use) extreme...
at some point a 200$ xbox starts looking like a deal though ;)
wow, I just stumbled upon "geek central"

haha, wow...
well, if anything we should all be very excited for next years release from both companies. If espn is smart they will hire a staff to do nothing but work on franchise mode, and Madden might get a complete overall on all their graphics engines as a result of obht competition and the fact it wont be madden anymore. Ill have plenty of fun in the next year with these two games, but I already cant wait to see waht they make next year.
Oh, if both games dont do anything next year im gonig to be pissed. As much as we think they are going to do so many great things to beat out the other one, they might just do a stupid roster update because instead of fixing these games thye might just be working on the new games for the new console systems that are coming out in 05...
Well, late 05, early 06. Either way it will come out after the new madden and espn are due out but they might not put as much work into these consoles anymore. Just a thought

i'm hoping Microsoft's Fever team is doing just that, getting a headstart now for the next Xbox while letting EA have its day on the current Xbox with XboxLive...
I can't wait to see these games on the next generation systems

it will be tough trying to decide what system to get. Ill probably stick with sony. Apparently, and this could change, xbox games wont work on the next xbox system. Ive got some ps2 games that would play better on a newer system, even somthing simple like playing soul calibor 2, it takes a second to load the guys, making it faster would be nice.

by the time the next systems are out, computers should be able play the old systems' games... but its a pain to transfer them, and you'd need a new computer ;)...
