I am kinda of suprised, that people are so down on Tryon and Torrence. The Bills only had 173 yards passing and both of them played the whole game. Both of them are going to make the team. Corners are going to get beat. Byron Westbrook will probably make the team, also. I think that they are going to keep six db's and four saftey's(Landry, Doughty, Moore, and Fox or Horton. Thats why they are using Springs at saftey so they only have to keep four saftey's, thats my theory.
i agree with you. there are young and will get beat, but they did a decent job

secondary looks weak until carlos rogers returns.its pretty scary whan you consider the complete lack of depth after springs smoot and rogers.

How did Hamilton do? He was the guy who saw no chance of making the team and asked to be let go only to get resigned last week.

Again Torrence started the whole game and Tryon played as the Nickel in the begging and started the rest of the game. Torrence is a very good nickel and can start in a pinch. Very few teams in the NFL have three starters and a good nickel. They could have played better, but fourteen points, eleven from turn overs and 173 yards passing, wins almost every time. We have good depth at corners without Rogers, and with Rogers we have excelent depth.

Hamilton played like an animal. He had the hit of the game, causing a fumble. Dont get me wrong, I dont know if he played his position well, but he made some nasty hits.

Actually, I thought Torrence did okay. I have been watching him a lot and he is pretty much right with his receiver causing the QB to look for other options. On the play he got beat, he had good coverage it was just a better throw.

No. He's not going to be the number 2 corner, but I am okay with him as the third or fourth corner.

Tryon's a rookie and not a superstar rookie. He's gonna get beat like a drum pretty much through his first year.

I can't stand Tryon. I'd like to see Mason stick but his return skills aren't that good and his ST tackling still needs work. I think we keep 6 corners and 4 safeties until Carlos is at full strength then we go with 5 corners. I want to keep 4 rb's and might need the spot. Under that scenario, keep Rogers, Springs, Smoot, Torrence and either Richardson or Holt (put on Tryon on PS and see if his playing level catches up to his talking level). Safeties Landry, Doughty, Horton and Fox (Moore on PS).
BTW, the competition at WR is over IMO. I know that a lot of people on here are in love with Mix but I think McMullen is showing the potential the Eagles saw a few years ago and he's ready to break out. Unless Thomas or Kelly go on IR (would the NFL let you put someone on IR before the season for a strain?) the top six are set.
I think Chris Wilson is gone too because with Carter and Taylor you really don't need a pass rushing specialist that can't tackle or turn a running play back inside.

I think he is great in zone coverage, would be good on kick off coverage teams and really is a sound hitter. Not sure how he covers in man though.

I think McMullen looks way ahead of others at WR right now. Granted he is getting open against scrubs but at least he is getting open.

With the experience he has in the NFL and with the WCO he should be ahead of others right now. The question in my mind really is the best you'll get out of McMullen and do you want someone who has essentially plateaued or take a chance that someone like Mix has the upside to surpass where McMullen is now, sooner rather than later.

I'd love to see McMullen make it as the last WR. Mix has bruised ribs now, and McMullen has looked better thus far. At this point I'd say he's definitely the front-runner to be the last WR to make the 53-man. He's relatively local being a UVA guy too. I'm pulling for him. Plus he's an Eagles cast-off so I'd like to see him contribute just to rub it in.
