I'll admit I haven't been paying much attention to the small injuries in training camp. Just curious if there has been anything about when / if these two guys will get on the field.

Kelly was doing alright but he recently got a knee scope after pulling his own hamstring so he's out for a couple more weeks. Apparently the knee scope and the hamstring pull are only marginally related. PennSkinsFan 08-09-2008, 07:52 PM Nope. Get use to Toler, McMullen, Mann,a nd Thrash HateNMyEyez 08-10-2008, 11:48 AM i think the guys will make the team. just got unlucky with the injuries Beemnseven 08-10-2008, 12:01 PM In the pregame show on ESPN 980 yesterday, Vinny Cerrato says they should be able to play by the 4th preseason game against Carolina, on 8/23. The wideout spot is tough because I still think they're only keeping five WRs on the 53-man roster. I don't see James Thrash getting cut, and despite missing all this playing time, Kelly and Thomas are virtually guaranteed a spot because of their draft status. Sucks for guys like Billy McMullen who are giving it their all, but still probably won't make the team because there's just not enough room for six wideouts. McMullen is basically auditioning for other teams right now. As for Anthony Mix, I still don't see why so many people are crazy about him. Word is that he's great on special teams, though I haven't seen anything to rave about there; and he's been non-existant as a pass catcher. TheMalcolmConnection 08-10-2008, 12:52 PM I'm alright with McMullen. He's been beast with first, second and third string. rypper11 08-10-2008, 01:45 PM Why not IR one of these guys for the year? I think Moss, McMullen, ARE and Thrash can be more than solid for us and with all the time the rookies are missing could either of them contribute this year anyway? MTK 08-10-2008, 01:51 PM They need a legit injury to go on IR wolfeskins 08-10-2008, 01:52 PM The wideout spot is tough because I still think they're only keeping five WRs on the 53-man roster. MTK 08-10-2008, 01:57 PM I think there's a chance they'll keep 6 WRs. I'd love to see them find a way to keep McMullen. |
