I wouldn't call Thrash extremely valuable, however if Moss and ARE are your starting receivers (looking at the Skins depth chart showing two starting WRs), then I don't think you'd want all of your back ups to be rookies or inexperienced. Even if Devin Thomas or Malcolm Kelly become the "third" WR, I just don't see the team cutting Thrash.

please explain to me what makes him so valuable? i just don't get the man crush

Great blocker on teams, strong tackler, numerous times he's gotten down the field first and helped place a punt deep in the opponent's territory. He does a lot off the little things that go overlooked

Think Larry Izzo or Steve Tasker. Personally, I think he should have been in the ProBowl one or two times.

I have to agree, he's underrated when it comes to special teams. Overrated when it comes to WR skills (minus his downfield blocking), but definitely like to see him on special teams.
Not sure we have the room to keep at this point, but who knows.

If pressed to make a choice....who would you rather keep...
McMullen or Mason
McMullen or EJames
McMullen or CWilson

I really think we keep 3 of the 4 above
To me, it is McMullen vs CWilson...those guys have to fight it out

McMullen over Mason...................thats my pick!

When he's not hurt............he can pin the ball inside the 5 yard line on punts. He can tackle very well in the open field. He's a VERY good back up punt returner. When not returning punts he can block very well for those that do.

You know I almost think that Thrash gets underrated as a WR. It seems everytime he does get on the field and we need a big play he is the guy catching that 3rd and 15 pass to move the chains.

I also heard on the radio this morning that Thomas could see some playing time against the Jets.

See JLC's blog & also check redskins.com for some quotes from Zorn about Thrash. JLC reports that he has the #3 wr spot locked up for now. Thrash is a great team player. He has great hands & is dependable at wr. His contribution on spec. teams makes him even more valuable. There's no way he gets cut.

Will be interesting to see if one of the rooks play spec. teams. typically #4 and on are expected to play on spec. teams.

Thomas is finally getting healthy, anxious to see him on the field this weekend. I think we keep six wideouts unless Thomas and Kelly both show signs of being able to contribute this year. And since it normally takes wideouts three years before they take off, I don't think we want to be dependent on either Thomas or Kelly. If they play well, great, but we'll probably keep Thrash and McMullen too.
