Pennington to the DolphinsSmootSmack 08-09-2008, 01:39 PM ESPN - Source: Pennington gets two-year, $11.5M deal with Dolphins - NFL (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3526489) MTK 08-09-2008, 01:46 PM Good fit for them until Henne is ready. saden1 08-09-2008, 01:46 PM $5.75 a year for a disabled QB? I don't get it! Raw0114 08-09-2008, 02:20 PM Pennington is considered a Vet. And after ny told him to get the Favre out, it was only a matter of time before someone picked him up. Besides something about miami has to be interesting enough to write about. Besides losing Taylor to the Greatest Team in the World! (IMO) So good for maimi, now they just have to focus on winning more than 1 game! HTTR!!! Paintrain 08-09-2008, 03:05 PM Week One NYJ @ Miami just got that much more interesting. Go Dolphins. That Guy 08-09-2008, 04:27 PM out of the teams involved in the brett favre trade, miami made out the best. GB looks like a sack of rotting a$$holes the jets overpaid to put a good QB in a new system at 39 years old that may walk away miami gets a starting QB for up to 5 years, or until the rookie is ready... and yeah, pennington is noodle armed, but he's still a lot better than what they had, and i do believe henne will eventually be better, but in the meantime this'll get parcells instant results (Which is a big thing with him). ChillWill 08-09-2008, 05:20 PM This is too much money for what Pennington brings to the table. I'm not impressed with the Tuna. Dirtbag59 08-09-2008, 06:29 PM Lol, my friend, whos a Dolphins fan, use to always to debate me about weather or not Pennington was a Pro Bowl caliber QB (which for a certain amount of time he was) now he has him on his team (keep in mind I was arguing in favor of Pennington). htownskinfan 08-09-2008, 08:16 PM I can not believe the dolphins signed him, especially that much money and to be a starter, why not go after Favre if you wanted a qb? I've always liked Pennington, but I thought with his noodle arm that he would have been lucky to find a backup job somewhere, boy was I wrong Dirtbag59 08-09-2008, 08:51 PM I can not believe the dolphins signed him, especially that much money and to be a starter, why not go after Favre if you wanted a qb? I've always liked Pennington, but I thought with his noodle arm that he would have been lucky to find a backup job somewhere, boy was I wrong As far as Farve, Pennington, and the Dolphins are concerned. 1. One of the main factors in completing a Farve trade was Farves willingness to be traded to the team involved in a trade with the Packers. A team like the Dolphins who are now in complete rebuilding mode is not something Farve would have agreed to. 2. The Dolphins have lots of cap room and Pennington can still play quality football. I mean the guy came out of last year with an 86.1 QB rating last year and in a very scarce QB market (which includes QB's already on rosters) theres a premnium on decent QB play. 3. Miami is not like New York in terms of wind speed, with the exception of hurricane season. I will say Pennington is no longer a pro bowl QB but for a team like the Dolphins I think he's a very good fit. In fact I think an accurate QB like Pennington is perfect for taking advantage of the YAC ability that a reciever like Ginn comes with. I will also say though that he's better then Josh McCown (who somehow always seems to find a job) and it'll give Chad Henne time to develop. Dis r low rick hi rewards. |
