FB Pete Schmitt was released today (apparently by his own request) and in turn the Redskins have signed former Hokie Safety Justin Hamilton.
I don't know much about Hamilton but I know there are some VT fans on here. So what do you think? camp body or legit threat to Moore and Horton?

Now that is a properly thought out title.

Chris Horton has a spot on the team and I'm anxious to see Moore play. I have to say Hamilton is a camp body. I'm surprised they brought him back. Wasn't he let go to make room for Schweigert? Is Omar Stoutmire still available? I wonder why he hasn't been asked back.

Zorn said Schmitt quit, walked off the field. Guess he felt his chances were pretty futile.

I would say Justin Hamilton is just a camp body. I seriously doubt that he's a threat to any of our safeties. Obviously Horton had an impressive showing against the Colts, and there has been a lot of talk lately about how well Kareem Moore is doing.

He is a camp body, however necessity might get him placed on the practice squad.

We had a thread on him when he was signed earlier.
Hamilton is a good athlete but never seemed to have the edge to play defense & doesn't seem to adjust well in coverage. I'm a Hokie so I had high hopes for him, but after we drafted a couple safeties & seeing Horton the other night, you've got to figure that JH is a longshot & would make it as a special teamer, which he could excel at.
