Maybe the week of the anniversary, they'll break out the #21 stickers for the helmets again.
Remembering Sean Taylor?Monkeydad 08-05-2008, 11:54 AM Maybe the week of the anniversary, they'll break out the #21 stickers for the helmets again. Giantone 08-05-2008, 04:48 PM Maybe they will retire his number and that's it. I'm in agreement with a majority of the people on here. I miss Sean, just as much as the next person, but we need to let him rest in peace. His teammates miss him, as well, and I'm sure they don't need any more of a reminder than the one they have in their locker room. Can I ask why they would retire his number, don't you think Art or Daryl's # should be retired first? firstdown 08-05-2008, 05:12 PM I did not know ST as a person but did know him as a player and I just can't help to think what he would have become on the field everytime I see one of his re-plays. Cowell 08-06-2008, 12:46 AM Honestly, I don't think they need to retire his number. There is no player that is going to come in here in the next 10 years and even consider dawning that number. Bubba305-ST21- 08-06-2008, 03:17 PM i still get goose bumps about what it would be like with him and LaRon back there lurking. watching laron makes me love him more just because i know he learned things from sean, you can tell just by that attitude and swagger he has out there which is i dont care who you are i will still rock your ass. He cant replace sean but hes the damn closest thing. i like to think of him as Sean's protege so to speak. Bubba305-ST21- 08-06-2008, 03:19 PM Honestly, I don't think they need to retire his number. There is no player that is going to come in here in the next 10 years and even consider dawning that number. i agree. nobody will have the nerve to do that. they know they wont do sean taylors number justice. also seanT's teamates wont allow it especially his boys CP and santana Monkeydad 08-06-2008, 03:36 PM Even Portis didn't feel worthy of wearing it and he's our best player, so no one will even try. prinzeofmoval 08-07-2008, 09:20 PM Sorry man but I doubt it. They might do something on the 1 year anniversary of his passing, idk. I'm not trying to be mean here but they gave him a proper tribute during last season, everybody knows he's gone but he's not forgotten. They aren't going to keep bringing it up every season, it's time to let him rest in peace. I agree..how do you say lets move on without sounding like an ass..I love Sean and he will never be forgotten but we don't need to keep bringing him up in post and re-opening scars. Monkeydad 08-08-2008, 11:08 AM ^ It hasn't even been a year yet. I see nothing wrong with honoring him on the first anniversary. He was greatly loved by teammates and fans and was bound for the HOF someday. It was a huge loss on both personal and team levels. MTK 08-08-2008, 11:15 AM ^ It hasn't even been a year yet. There's nothing wrong with however they choose to continue to honor him. For those that think it's over I'm sorry but you're wrong. His locker is still preserved at Redskins Park and Cooley and ARE said the other day on Sirius that Taylor is still very much in their thoughts and he will continue to be. Just because it's a new season it doesn't mean they've forgotten him and they will continue to play for him. |
