OT: Omg! Wtf! Lol! Colt Brennan Is So 1337firstdown 08-04-2008, 11:20 AM He looked good but I'll wait until I see a few more passes before I pass any judgement. hesscl34 08-04-2008, 11:33 AM Colt played well but consider a couple of things. He was playing against scrubs, he had WRs running wide freaking open. That's not going to happen against first stringers. But I did like his accuracy, when he saw a guy he hit him. Secondly, he locks on to his WRs big time. That's to be expected from a young QB but there's no way he's ready to start or even be the #2. Collins to me appeared to be very hesitant in his decision making, but I think once he gets up to speed in the offense he's going to be fine. Plus he has the coolest name for a QB. Colt Brennan.. it just sounds right!!! .. LOL hesscl34 08-04-2008, 11:34 AM Well if Collins keeps preforming like tonight, Colts got at least a shot a 2. I'd have to agree with you on that. Collins did not look comfortable or happy out there last night. over the mountain 08-04-2008, 12:35 PM lol at this thread. come on man, colt looked good against the guys he lined up against and im happy he performed well. is this wrong that i liked what i saw from colt with his sidearm? and i hope collins stays as our #2, im a big believer in having a veteran back up a developing qb like JC. as we have seen injuries happen in this league GTripp0012 08-04-2008, 12:43 PM Anyone who payed any attention to college football knew that Colt Brennan was more than capable of doing this against NFL 2nd and 3rd teamers. I mean, the big knock on him is the level of competition he saw in college, and he really didn't answer that last night. I think though, when we drafted him, there wasn't any doubt that he was good enough to do this. There is still doubt that once he's on film, that he'll ever be able to adapt to the speed and adjustment ability of NFL defenses, but this performance hardly surprised me. The guy has only been doing it the last three years. Stuck in TX 08-04-2008, 12:48 PM I'd have to agree with you on that. Collins did not look comfortable or happy out there last night. I think that ole Collins will be lost without his longtime guru Al Saunders. I bet he is held onto but is let go next year to retire with the Rams. Cowell 08-04-2008, 01:04 PM I thought the same thing. All of a sudden Collins doesen't look so comfortable. I guess when you have been playing in one system almost your whole career it's really tough to switch. GhettoDogAllStars 08-04-2008, 01:06 PM Colt played well but consider a couple of things. He would have thrown some picks, if his primary target wasn't open all night. There was at least one play where he threw to his primary target (without checking others), and it was almost intercepted. I think he looked good, but this kid would get eaten alive against a real NFL defense. There's no way I'd make him our #2. Collins proved last year that he can manage a game, against a real defense, and during games that really matter. Colt hasn't done squat yet. LMsexyAO 08-04-2008, 01:18 PM No kidding -- big time. Plus, what you want from your #2 is someone who can come in and MANAGE a game, and we already know Collins is able to do that perfectly. If Colt played like he did last night against starters, as everyone's already said, he would have thrown at least one guaranteed interception. That's not what you want from your #2; Collins is still the smart choice. riggins44 08-04-2008, 01:24 PM Got to cut Collins some slack for last night. The OL didn't give him the protection to see what he could do. I'm not ready to bump Brennan up the depth chart. Will wait till he plays against a better D. Think the kid has a future with Zorn. |
