FRPLG 08-22-2004, 04:47 PM Actually Tupa started some games for the Jets in the mid 90s i believe. He was decent QB, sorta like one of the Huard brothers if I recall. Definitely is a better punter than qb obviously but he is probably the best throwing punter since ole Sammy! Dave Butz Baby! 08-22-2004, 04:51 PM Actually Tupa started some games for the Jets in the mid 90s i believe. He was decent QB, sorta like one of the Huard brothers if I recall. Definitely is a better punter than qb obviously but he is probably the best throwing punter since ole Sammy! As much as I hate to say it, Danny White in Dallas wasn't too shabby. Until McNabb equaled him last year, he was the only quarterback to lose the NFC championship game three years in a row! SmootSmack 08-22-2004, 04:56 PM Tupa's passing stats http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/1422 13 games started, 12 TDs, 25 INTs For a sad, yet funny comparison Heath Shuler's passing stats: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/ShulHe00.htm 29 games (don't know many started), 15 TDs, 33 INTs SmootSmack 08-22-2004, 04:59 PM As much as I hate to say it, Danny White in Dallas wasn't too shabby. Technically though, wasn't Gary Hogeboom the QB the day we beat them to go to SB XVII I always thought Neil Lomax was really underrated but his Cardinals stunk Dave Butz Baby! 08-22-2004, 05:11 PM Technically though, wasn't Gary Hogeboom the QB the day we beat them to go to SB XVII I always thought Neil Lomax was really underrated but his Cardinals stunk Hehehe... no, technically Hogeboom was not the QB. White started, but Dexter Manley knocked his ass out in the second quarter. Literally. He was out cold. But he was the starter all year and got them there. Hogeboom came in to play mop-up and to toss the ball to Darryl Grant. I agree with you about Lomax. He, Roy Green, and Pat Tilley were pretty damn good... Green was really good, actually. But man-o-man... hopefully it will be like just this (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/sports/redskins/longterm/1997/history/allart/dw1982b.htm) again soon! SmootSmack 08-22-2004, 05:16 PM Thanks DBB. For some reason I had thought White didn't play at all that game Roy Green played WR and DB also right? Remember Stump Mitchell? What a name! Dave Butz Baby! 08-22-2004, 06:06 PM LOL... I'm sure White doesn't remember playing in that game either! I don't remember Green playing DB, but for some reason that rings a bell... maybe was there another guy named Roy Green on the team too? JWsleep 08-22-2004, 06:29 PM Reading that article gave me goosebumps! Man, when Grant rumbled into the endzone, that was one of the greatest all-time skins moment. I swear you could hear yelling and cheering everywhere in the DC area for miles around. It is time to get back to glory. GO COACH GIBBS!!!! :dallas: :dallas: :dallas: |
