They don't retire numbers. The equipment manager simply doesn't give out some of them like 81,28, etc...
Actually there is a Jersey # that is retired for the Redskins and that # is 33 for Sammy Baugh.. all the others like 28,81 just arent handed out as far as i know

I'm not sure if a person's name can be copyrighted, but I wouldn't be surprised if the NFLPA does that (for jerseys, etc.). If it's copyrighted, then the squatter might not have a right to purchase/use that domain.

I highly doubt that he would wear 21 to honor Sanders, but I could be wrong. I am also confident that he did not wear 21 in high school. A guy I know who was close to Sean says that he just thought it was a way better number then 36, and once Smoot was gone he wanted it. i would love to know the truth behind this!

Yeah i kinda wonder that too. But Taylor and Jason are about as common of names as they get.
I dont know if i could jack someones webname for ransome, but some Redskin v Cowboy tickets would be nice. Plus it seems like his website is just promoting his likeness and selling stuff. Nothing wrong with that, but Chris Cooly's at least has a blog.

Mel Kaufman wasn't retired!?
Interesting Jason Taylor didn't try to buy #99, but it's probably a good indication of the man he is and how he respects the game. I'm extremely pleased with the front office in this horrible situation losing Daniels for the year. Couldn't have turned out better. All Jason Taylor has to do is turn out a better season than TJ Duckett did for us a few years back... I have faith. Can't believe I'm saying this... "great job Vinny!"

I liked Taylor's reason for not making a deal for 99. Said he respects his time in Miami and 99 belongs to the 'Phins fans/team. To me, that's just seriously good karma.
I wasn't thrilled with the move initially (thought a 2nd was a bit high for a rent a player), but I am fast becoming enamored of this guy. We'll see how it plays out.

For being the Defensive player of the Year and a probable HOFer, Jason Taylor seems to be a very humble man.
I like that. We seem to get players with good character, even post-Gibbs.
Unlike fans of many other teams, we can actually be proud to be Redskins fans for more than wins.
JT does a ton of stuff in the community as well. He's a quality dude.
