Justin Tryon seems to have swagger to him. He's already yapping on the field like Smoot. Plus he seems to be doing well on the practice field.

he's been doing that since draft day. confidence is definitely not a problem.

and yeah, generally NFL teams don't talk about players under contract to other teams (publicly) because THEY AREN'T SUPPOSED TO.

If you're going to try and pin it to the FO, pointless whining a pretty weak approach.

JC's not happy with his own performance in practice, he said it himself... he let's the pressure get to him too much and over thinks. I hope you are right and he'll work out of it... but if not then the right thing to do is pull the plug before we are needing 6 straights wins to make the playoffs....
IMO the struggles he's having are still thinking about the reads too much and not trusting his own decsion-making yet. He's probably making the right read, but is still hesitating on pulling the trigger slightly. This will throw off the timing in the WCO. Give Zorn & JC the benefit of the doubt, and next week I'll bet we see a much improved and more consistent JC. JC's a hard worker and for the first time in his NFL career he has a good QB coach, who has played the position at the NFL level.

Collins is not the answer. JC would need to play pretty awful for me to pull him in favor of Collins.

Dude has a TON of swagger, and he seems to be backing it up so far. He could be a nice find.

We're not even done with day 3 of camp. Personally I like the fact he's critical of himself. He's probably not playing quite as bad as he thinks he is. He just needs to settle in. He'll be fine.
Well if he only hitting around 50/50 it would be kind of hard not to be critcal of himself.

The undying faith you all have in him really surprises me considering his inconsistent throwing and lack of confidence. Anyway, my original post said I was sick of the excuses every time JC stinks it up. I didn’t post to have a discussion about who I think should be our QB… that’s a discussion we’ll save for later.

Who has undying faith??

All I'm saying is we haven't seen enough of him to make any firm judgments. You've gotta give the guy a fair shot.

It's day 3 of camp in a new system and you're already hinting at a QB change?

C'mon.

And I thought due to potential charges of tampering Vinny was well within his rights to say they weren't interested at that time. That JLC article just seems like sour grapes.

Yeah, sounds like someone is annoyed he didn't catch wind of it before it happened. Boo hoo JLC.

Not yet, But so far he has played in 20 games over two seasons.

Year one he played 7 games and his QB rating was 76.5. Not great.

Next year he played 13 games and his qb raiting was virtually unchanged at 77.6, even though he went through the entire training camp as the designated starter.

His rating was actually higher in Losses than wins (77.8 : 77.3).

His rating was abysmal in games close and late (51.0).

I'm starting to see a pattern, that I hope the next 16 games changes.

This is definitely a "put up or shut up" year for him.

I posted this back in May. We definitely agree that this is a "put up or shut up" year for JC though.
