What's a fair price for Taylor? 3rd round pick that turns to a 2nd if certain requirements are met?
That sounds fair enough to me

Phillip Daniels is done for the season, Buzbee also hurt (updated)MTK 07-20-2008, 03:39 PM What's a fair price for Taylor? 3rd round pick that turns to a 2nd if certain requirements are met? I can definitely see Jason Taylor in a Skins uniform now. Sort of a Catch-22 though. If we trade away our #1 for him, then we can't use that pick to select one in the draft. BleedBurgundy 07-20-2008, 03:46 PM a #1 would be too much, unless Taylor agrees to play at least 3 more years, imo. sandtrapjack 07-20-2008, 03:48 PM Sorry guys, I just heard the news on NFL Radio. Shocked is what I am. But NFL Radio was talking to David Elfin from the Washington Times, he is at camp with the team and he saw the whole thing. Initial report from Zorn was a sprained knee, but word is out that is is probably an ACL injury and Daniels is done for the year. Elfin went on to report that there are definite rumblings at camp that the Redskins will pursue a deal to land Jason Taylor. Nothing official of course, on the injury or the teams next step. Sorry to hear this happen to you guys. Report went on to say that the team was not even in pads, but just shells and it happened on the very first play in training camp. Eerily similar to the injury to LeCharles Bentley when he went down on the first play at camp when he went to the Browns. The Goat 07-20-2008, 03:59 PM I cannot believe this. It's not just about the sting of bizarre injuries and a tragedy carried over from last season. Daniels went out of his way to get in the best shape of his life this off-season. His power-lifting vids are monster impressive, but now I have to wonder whether damage was done at some point that made an injury inevitable. We'll just never know. All I know is that I'm f'n depressed. Like others have said a 2nd or 3rd round pick for Taylor is reasonable. If the Tuna asks for more we should pass, and in that case who can name some good DE's still out there? Do we have any other options? Big C 07-20-2008, 03:59 PM really would be a shame to see all our offseason discipline thrown out the window by giving up too much for jason taylor in a panic move. dolphins wanted a 1st round pick, really would piss me off if we gave that up to get him. SFREDSKIN 07-20-2008, 04:04 PM The Redskins have to calm down and not panic into trading the farm for Jason Taylor for only one year. I say give Alex Buzzbee a chance and bring back Dorian Smith for added competition. There will be cuts late in camps from other teams, patience. JWsleep 07-20-2008, 04:04 PM Redskins Insider (http://blog.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/) Confirmation from the Post. Oy. I agree we should not burn down the house to get Taylor. If Daniels was the key to our entire year, getting Taylor aint gonna save us. Only if the price is right. The Goat 07-20-2008, 04:07 PM I just checked roster stats and it looks like Evans is only 28. He's performed well when Daniels has suffered lesser injuries and I wonder how much of a downgrade he would be as the starter. |
