Just that if I come over here and say oh Bret's gona be a Skin ...all of you would shoot me,hell you have 2 or 3 threads about this now but if there is a link (like PFT or not) then there might be more to it then just rumors.
I read it ,you just don't like it.
Hence the lack of need for a new thread. Post this in one of those.
They at least lay out a scenario for Favre going to Carolina. There is nothing new or substantive in this blurb vis-à-vis the Redskins. I can see thinking there might be more to it than rumors prior to reading it, however, upon reading it clearly there is not.
Maybe I'm reacting negatively because I don't like what the article says, or maybe you are just bringing weak sauce to the picnic.

It isn't that PFT is a reliable or unreliable source. They simply post any and all news that they gather from all of the media outlets from around the league. It is what it is: Pro...Football...Talk. If somebody affiliated with some football team says something football related they post it, plain and simple. It's all just water cooler....talk.
As to this rumor, if we do sign Favre, I'll tattoo "I heart PFT" on my right arm.

More from PFT
ProFootballTalk.com - MORE ON FAVRE TO THE REDSKINS (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/07/15/more-on-favre-to-the-redskins/)
"The wildly divergent viewpoints, however, mean that no one’s got a clue about how this whole mess is going to end up."
Finally, PFT gets it right
There isn't much, in my opinion, to be gained by trading for Favre. If Zorn wants to say (and I'm totally making this up) "you know what Campbell's just not my guy. I didn't draft him and I'll say all the right things but truth is I'm more focused on developing Colt for 2009-2010," that's fine I suppose but a) Favre as a stopgap measure wont come cheap and b) a huge investment has already been made in Campbell so just be aware of that.
End of the day, I think Campbell is our guy for years to come.

I was totally against the idea of getting Favre until this comment, now I am rooting for it! ;)

I would only go after Farve if he was released. Other than I wouln't touch him. He's irratic and hes always been a high risk/ high reward player.

Giantone, I am aghast, shocked and dismayed that you would lend ANY credence to ANYTHING coming off of ProFootballTalk.com. I've read better crap in the super market check-out line.
That site is the sports writers equivalant of the National Enquirer.
By the end of training camps, they will have Bigfoot playing Defensive End for the Jets.
And please...a first round draft pick for a guy that will probably announce his retirement AGAIN next March!
Didn't you hear? We're trading picks for Bigfoot too.

Sigh.... This is so weak. The vast majority of PFT's rumors are farts in the wind.
