I have bad feeling this doesn't end well for Favre...
Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)onlydarksets 07-11-2008, 07:16 PM I have bad feeling this doesn't end well for Favre... Riggo44 07-11-2008, 07:23 PM I have bad feeling this doesn't end well for Favre... If he could some how get released and go to the Vikings it might end alright for Favre but not the Packers. But I don't see G.B ever letting that happen. mlmpetert 07-11-2008, 07:55 PM Wouldnt it be kinda funny if he got traded to Alanta? He could end his career where it all started. Jamaican'Skin 07-11-2008, 08:36 PM Wouldnt it be kinda funny if he got traded to Alanta? He could end his career where it all started. I think that would be the most likely scenario, but would Favre want to play for a rebuilding team? I think he's trying to come back another year to win a Super Bowl, and I don't think that there is current team that is in Super Bowl contention that would need a QB Warren85Ellard 07-11-2008, 09:03 PM I think that would be the most likely scenario, but would Favre want to play for a rebuilding team? Favre should hang up is cleets or sign with the Montreal Alouettes or the Edmonton Eskimos and get himself a Grey Cup. mlmpetert 07-11-2008, 09:08 PM Yeah I dont buy that he would come back to play for a rebuilding team either. I think the only team thats needs a QB and could possibly make it to the Superbowl next year is Minn., well maybe also NYG or Dal. And no way they release him to take that chance. I got to wonder if he wants to come back for a couple seasons. KokoMike 07-11-2008, 10:58 PM If Vince Lombardi can come to the Redskins from the Packers, so can Farve. I know the Redskins season ticket holders, including myself, would love to see it. They would surely sell more beer at the games, too. Hey, we did average 20.9 points a game last year. That is not enough. That Guy 07-12-2008, 01:02 AM i'm not sure an established team would really be eager to pull their current starter for him for 1 year... i mean, he'd help the redskins for 1 season, but with a new coach and campbell healthy, i don't think it's in our long term interests to do that. MTK 07-12-2008, 12:07 PM It should be interesting to see how this plays out. I have to admit I almost wish we were in the market for a QB. He's undoubtedly going to go to a contender, he could really tip the balance of wherever he goes. Tampa and Carolina seem like a couple of logical destinations. ESPN - Now that Favre has requested freedom, consider his 32 options - NFL (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=williamson_bill&id=3474482) SmootSmack 07-12-2008, 02:12 PM If I'm another team, such as Carolina perhaps, I might be tempted to call the Packers up and say "what do you want for Aaron Rodgers?" Then the Packers save themselves from any PR mess by not having to trade away Favre and they can just develop Brohm for 2009 or whenever. |
