Mike Ditka said today that he would take Farve in a minute. The guy will fight to win, and that's the kind of mentality the Redskins need.

OK, ok. We're not going to get him. I know a lot of you guys love Jason Campbell, but I have a concern about that calm demeanor thing when he continues to make huge mistakes without any emotion.

Where's the fire in his belly?

Calm demeanor? Wasn't it after the first Dallas game that Campbell broke down in tears because he was so emotional?

Some of the fiercest competitors in the league (and in my experience, life in general) are "quiet types". Histrionics does not equal either leadership or competitiveness. John Unitas, aside from his skills as a QB, was widely acknowledged as the leader of his team. He wasn't demonstrative, but no one, and I mean NO ONE, had any misconceptions as to who was in charge of Johnny U's huddle.

More recent example, Joe Montana - "Hey, isn't that John Candy". Also, according Joe Gibbs, Doug Williams (remember him?) had one of the calmest demeanors of any QB he had seen and found that to be one Williams' stongest attributes.

Not saying JC is in that league yet. But he may prove to be. Who knows 20 years we maybe saying... Damn, why can't we get another QB with ice in his veins like Campbell.

How about the hugh mistakes Farve has made over the years throwing picks then just laughing it off as, Oh Well! He is far from perfect and while he has been successful he still has only won one SB. I can name 3 QB's not near as successful that has matched that record.

Reports: Packers are shopping Brett Favre

The Green Bay Packers have spoken to several teams, including at least one NFC team, to see what they would be willing to offer for quarterback Brett Favre, NFL Network reports.

The report did not indicate how many teams were contacted in what were termed 'exploratory' phone calls.

Sporting News contributor Mike Florio of profootballtalk.com reports that the Ravens were one of the teams the Packers contacted to gauge interest in Favre. The Ravens told Green Bay they were not interested, Florio writes.

One source speculated for NFL Network that the Packers are simply gauging what Favre is worth on the open market before deciding whether to try to trade him. Favre has said that he does want to play in 2008, and he asked for his release from the Packers, indicating he would be willing to play for a different team if Green Bay doesn't want him.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that other teams potentially interested in Favre are the Bears, Bills, Buccaneers, Chiefs, Dolphins, Falcons, Jets, Lions, Panthers, Redskins and Vikings.

well, we have a young guy thats at worst average, and we have like 100k in cap space, so i doubt he's coming here.

We have very little cap room right now. Anyone with half a brain would rule out the Skins after making the Jason Taylor trade.
