I have a feeling this is going to get ugly for the Packers organization......

Let it get out that the organization forced him to retire. or...
The organization does not want him back. or....
They only want him to be second fiddle...

I have to belive fans will be upset. Thay may lose alot of money. The problem is the organization pushed Bret to the forefront as the face of the team and kept him there through thick and thin. Now the organization wants to wrestle the organization back from Bret. not good.

Possible locations for him (so I thought)
Atlanta (first came to mind, they need a QB and he started there)
Miami (they need a QB bad)
Carolina (didn't come to mind but possibility)
New Orleans
Denver
Jags (?)
Tampa (but only because they are trying to corner the market on QB's)
Cheifs
Jets

favre isn't going to a loser, so half those teams just won't work. TB is most likely, minn would be the best, but GB probably doesn't want that happening.

if some team has a severe QB pre-season injury, like denver or carolina or etc, then favre is definitely in play.

Favre should be allowed to come back to Green Bay. Best chance they have this year trying to win it all! I think they should trade Rodgers for needs. Drafting 2 QBs wasn't a bad idea not knowing if Brett was gonna play. Packers management caught with their pants down... If he doesn't return to GB I'd expect to see him in Tampa, Minnesota or Seattle. I think Favre would take a back up job with Holmgren...

wtf is the point of coming back to be a backup? that's not going to help his streak or anything, and at 12mill, i doubt seattle wants him.

He's definitely not going through all of this to return as a backup. That's just ridiculous.

Thompson tells his side of story | greenbaypressgazette.com | Green Bay Press-Gazette (http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080713/PKR01/807130683/1058)

In an interview Saturday morning with The Associated Press, Packers coach Mike McCarthy said the tone of Favre's intentions changed in June. According to McCarthy, Favre called on June 20 with the message: "Give me my helmet or give me my release." But McCarthy said Favre remained unsure he could commit 100 percent to football.

Only on Tuesday — in a conference call between Thompson, McCarthy, Favre and Favre's agent, Bus Cook — did Favre say he was committed to playing.

"Was it convincing? I'd say yes," McCarthy said. "But that was the first time, July 8, that I'd ever heard him say (he was committed). And he continually, from (June) 21 to July 8, told (offensive line coach) James Campen that he was not going to play. So, that's a pretty important piece of the puzzle."

Well that's something. "Give me my helmet or give me my release" That must be the modern day "Give me liberty or give me death!"

Looking at Packers message boards, it's really interesting how many Packers fans (nearly all) are siding with Favre and not Ted Thompson. Makes you wonder how rabid Packers fans for the past two decades really have been. Have they just been rooting for Favre all this time?

Include us in the list JC would want to have the guy he looked up to too show him how things are done. Not only that but one year here and means playoff than why not. JC could learn so much and Favre could fasten up our offense and get the O clicking quicker than expected. While JC takes pressure of him self by benching for one more year and know the playbook.

With JC this year( Every one expects 4-12/ or 5-11) i expect 7-9

With Favre( 12-4)

The D should still be good and with more weapons here than why not give it an shot.

I'm sure Campbell would rather actually play.

I don't know, this is alot of pressure where putting on him. If i was him( and i'm no where as good as him) but i would actully like to sit down for one year trying to erase that Al's BS playbook and know our team knows the WCO perfectly next year.

I just don't want JC on that term( one bad year = new QB) type of thing. Although Brennan is tempting.
