Yode's Corner: The Practical Joke

The NFL is full of pranksters and jokers (so is the MLB) (http://deadspin.com/5009134/ken-griffey-jr-is-quite-the-rapscallion). Really it's men that play a serious game for a living filling in the boring times by acting like school boys and having some fun. In the 8 years I have played I have seen, experienced, and heard about some funny jokes that have been played on guys. Usually the jokes start out as simple humor but most always get escalated into elaborate retaliatory strikes that eventually will cross the line of good taste. Which leaves me to classify the pranks into three groups, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

God, his blogs get funnier. The picture of the woman drinking gatorade by the last paragraph is genius.

Who would have figured that Yoder had a sense of humor? Hilarious!

LOL!

Having a good sense of humor has got to be a prerequisite for fitting into any NFL locker room, I'd imagine. On all my high school and NCAA sports teams, you had to have a good sense of humor to survive. I imagine it's magnified by a power of 10 in the NFL.

Once, after college swim practice, I spent 5 minutes after practice talking to the coach about my approach to certain race, so everyone else went into the locker room. I came in five minutes later, turned the corner, and was nailed smack in the chestbone with something chunky and slimey. It knocked me two steps back and took the wind out of me, chunks of this crap were everywhere, all over my face, my chest, and all over the locker room. I look up, and three of my buddies are holding this giant slingshot water-balloon launcher (one guy on each side with one in the middle pulling it back), with an empty can of SPAM in hand.

Yeah it hurt, but if you can't laugh at being drilled with a chunk of SPAM at high speed, you've got no hope in a locker room.

Your story is funnier than any of Yode's stuff! The pranksters were right there to help you enjoy every second of it! (Except for the sore chest!)
